Liuget (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Ricky Henne of the Chargers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget suffered a season-ending torn quad tendon during a Week 11 loss to the Broncos. The backup defensive tackle will set his sights on a return to the field in 2019, and finish the 2018 season on injured reserve. The Chargers have signed T.Y. McGill to take Liuget's spot on the 53-man roster.

Liuget won't return this season after tearing a quad tendon Sunday against the Broncos, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget's injury was initially thought to be to his knee but was clarified after the game. He'll figure to move to IR in the near future. Counting Sunday, Liuget had played in six games this season, totaling 14 tackles (nine solo), including 1.5 sacks. Look for Justin Jones to pick up some extra snaps as the Chargers' only backup at defensive tackle now that Liuget is out.

Liuget (knee) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget will not return to Sunday's tilt against the Broncos after having been carted to the locker room in the first half. The severity of the veteran's injury remains undisclosed, but it appears that Liuget may have sustained a significant knee issue. Darius Philon will benefit from an increased defensive workload as long as Liuget remains sidelined.

Liuget is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Broncos due to a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget was carted off from the sideline to the locker room, according to Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times. The veteran suffered what appeared to be a significant knee injury during the second quarter of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos. As long as Liuget remains sidelined, expect Darius Philton to receive an uptick in snaps.

Liuget recorded three tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks, in Sunday's win over Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget bounced back to form in what was his second game of the season. His 1.5 sacks equaled his total through 12 games last year. His ability to get after the passer is vital for a Chargers team that is still without Joey Bosa (foot). Liuget will look to maintain his strong play Sunday into Week 7, when the Chargers take on the Titans.

Liuget (suspension) has been reinstated to the league, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget's reinstatement comes at a critical time for the Chargers who have witnessed a dip in production up front with Joey Bosa (foot) sidelined. It may take Liuget a quarter or two get his feet back underneath him, but the big fella is expected to help out Los Angeles right away.

Liuget (suspension) left Saturday's preseason game against the Saints with a minor undisclosed injury, Jack Wang of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Chargers exercised caution with Liuget by pulling him out of the game. He faces a four-game ban for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs to start the season, so there's little chance the injury is still lingering in Week 5.

Liuget restructured his contract Monday, ensuring the 28-year-old will remain with the Chargers for another season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Two years into a five-year extension signed in 2015, Liuget has seen his production decline drastically as the defensive tackle has quietly been phased out of the rotation. After recording at least 40 tackles in three of his first four seasons, the former first-round pick has failed to hit that mark in each of the last three seasons, and has combined for a modest 4.5 sacks over that time span. Facing a four-game suspension to begin the year after violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, there was some talk the Chargers may opt to release Liuget altogether, but Monday's announcement should quell those concerns for at least this season. Darius Philon is expected to start at defensive tackle to begin the season.

Liuget has been suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy, Eric D. Williams of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget claims he was misinformed by a trainer regarding the acceptability of a substance he was taking and did not knowingly violate the league's rules. However, he has accepted his suspension and it doesn't appear as though he'll appeal the ruling. He'll partake in the offseason program and preseason before sitting the first four games of the regular season.

Liuget (knee) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Liuget will miss his second consecutive tilt due to a grade 2 PCL sprain, which he suffered in Week 15. Darius Philon and Damion Square could see expanded roles at defensive tackle next to starter Brandon Mebane.
