Shaw (lower leg), who was reportedly waived earlier on Tuesday, will actually remain with the team, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The reason for the Bears change of heart stems from a left knee injury suffered by Mark Sanchez in OTAs Tuesday. Sanchez is expected to return for training camp, but until then Shaw will be bumped up to the No. 3 option on the depth chart. Unless Sanchez's injury worsens or Shaw can win over the approval of the coaching staff in the next week, it appears as if the 25-year-old's release will be impending.

Shaw (leg) was waived by the Bears on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old Shaw, who missed the entire 2016 season with a broken leg, was fourth on the depth chart at quarterback for the Bears and may have had difficulty even earning a spot on the practice squad this season with the team already possessing a higher-upside developmental option in No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. As such, the Bears decided to let Shaw go in order to allow him to find a spot with another organization before training camp begins. Shaw's release clears a spot on the roster for receiver Victor Cruz, who agreed to a contract with the Bears last week.

Shaw (leg) was re-signed by the Bears on Saturday, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was likely to reach a deal with Chicago at some point, having entered the offseason as a restricted free agent. After missing the entire 2016 season with a broken leg, Shaw figures to remain buried on the depth chart at quarterback, but there is uncertainty surrounding who will be the top two options when the regular season rolls around.

Shaw (lower leg) expects to return in time for OTAs, The State reports. "I'm getting the strength back. I'm back running and throwing, so taking it day by day and getting better every day," the quarterback said.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw missed the entire 2016 campaign due to a broken leg suffered in the preseason. When healthy, he'll enter an interesting situation regarding the status of the Bears' QB corps. Not only is Jay Cutler (shoulder) facing an uncertain future with the organization due to his underwhelming on-field performance since signing a seven-year, $126 million contract in 2014, but the other two names above Shaw on the depth chart, that being Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley, are both set to be unrestricted free agents. Shaw and No. 5 QB David Fales, on the other hand, will be restricted free agents. Further complicating matters is the likelihood of the team selecting a signal caller in this year's draft. All in all, at this point in time it is anyone's guess what the future holds in store for the 25-year-old.

Shaw (leg) was placed on the Bears' injured reserve list on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw suffered a broken leg during Saturday's preseason tilt against the Chiefs, but no timetable has been provided for his return. It's still possible he could return this year, though, since NFL team's are each allowed to activate any one player per season off IR following Week 6. However, it's likely that Shaw's 2016 campaign has ended before it even began.

Shaw sustained a broken leg during Saturday's preseason game against the Chiefs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the fourth quarter of Saturday's contest, Shaw suffered the fracture just above his ankle. He'll undergo surgery immediately, after which a recovery timetable will be plotted. If no ligament was damaged on the play, there's a chance that he'll be able to return this season. With placement on IR on the horizon, Shaw will yield to Brian Hoyer and David Fales in the pecking order behind starting quarterback Jay Cutler.

Shaw has been awarded to the Bears via waivers, Cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was waived by the Browns on Thursday, but will now be reunited with former quarterbacks coach and current Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains in Chicago. After missing last season due to thumb surgery, Shaw figures to compete with former teammate Brian Hoyer for snaps behind Jay Cutler during training camp this summer.

Shaw was released by the Browns on Thursday, Marc Sessler of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw made just one start throughout his two years in Cleveland, but was a long shot to make the roster heading into the 2016 season with Robert Griffin, Josh McCown, Austin Davis, and rookie Cody Kessler competing for spots. Shaw spent his 2015 campaign on injured reserve due to a broken thumb, but the 24-year-old could be signed by another squad prior to upcoming training camps.

Shaw (thumb) was placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
The decision isn't surprising after Shaw required surgery on his right thumb that will necessitate multiple weeks of recovery time. Shaw's dismissal from the competition for third quarterback duties opens the door for either Thaddeus Lewis or Pat Devlin to claim the role, should coach Mike Pettine elect to keep three signal callers.

Shaw completed 14-of-28 passes for 177 yards and two turnovers (one interception and one fumble) during Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Shaw got the start with both Brian Hoyer (shoulder) and Johnny Manziel (hamstring) sidelined, and while his stats weren't prolific, he was in control for the most part. Nevertheless, he isn't likely to be the starter next season, even with numerous questions under center in Cleveland.
