EDGE Analysis
The rookie out of Mississippi spent most of the season inactive but was pressed into special teams and offensive duties after injuries to A.J. Green and James Wright.

Core made the Bengals' opening roster, one of three rookie wide receivers (Tyler Boyd, Alex Erickson) to make the team.
EDGE Analysis
The Bengals are exceptionally young at the wide receiver position behind A.J. Green and Brandon LaFell. James Wright is their sixth receiver, and he only has five career catches. Core will likely spend most of his initial games on special teams, though he flashed a little bit of big play ability in the third preseason game against the Jaguars.

Core's teammate Brandon LaFell is out indefinitely with a hand injury, NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Core, a sixth-round pick out of Ole Miss, had three catches for 33 yards in the preseason opener. He's working behind both fellow rookie Tyler Boyd and veteran special teamer Brandon Tate. But LaFell's injury should increase his reps in practice and in the preseason.

The Bengals selected Core in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 199th overall.
EDGE Analysis
Cincinnati needed to address their receiving corps through this year's draft after the departures of Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu. The Bengals selected Tyler Boyd out of Pitt in the second round and continued to add depth by pickin Core. While Laquon Treadwell got most of the publicity (and targets) among Ole Miss receivers, Core was more than serviceable as the Rebels' No.2 receiver in 2015, hauling in 37 passes for 644 yards (17.41 YPR) and four touchdowns. Core has excellent speed for a 6-3 receiver, recording a 4.47, 40-yard dash at the Combine. He's another tall and speedy receiver that should carve out a role in the Bengals' offense once he gets acclimated to the system. He has a background on special teams as well, which should help his chances of making the 53-man roster.
