The Jets placed Clark on injured reserve Tuesday due to an ankle injury, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clark suffered a high-ankle sprain during the first half of Monday's game against the Bills, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Clark will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, meaning the earliest he could return is Week 11 against the Colts on Nov. 17. Ashtyn Davis stepped into the strong safety role after Clark left Monday's game, and the former finished the contest with a season-high nine tackles (six solo). Davis could assume the starting role in Clark's absence while Isaiah Oliver continues to serve as the Jets' nickel corner while Michael Carter (back) remains sidelined.

Clark (knee) re-signed with the Jets on a one-year deal Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clark missed the entirety of the 2023 campaign after suffering an ACL team during the team's offseason training program last summer. The veteran safety was acquired via a trade with the Ravens last March and had been penciled in as the Jets starter at strong safety before suffering the injury. He'll now get another opportunity in the Big Apple and should get another chance to be a starter in the secondary opposite Tony Adams.

The Jets placed Clark (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clark suffered an ACL tear during the Jets' offseason program, so his move to IR was simply transactional. The 2017 sixth-round pick was acquired from Baltimore for a seventh-round pick earlier in the offseason and was expected to start for the Jets in 2023 after recording a career-high 101 tackles in 2022. However, the 28-year-old's season-ending injury prompted the Jets to sign former Packers and Bears safety Adrian Amos, who is now the leading candidate to start at safety alongside Jordan Whitehead.

Recent tests confirmed Clark (knee) suffered an ACL tear during the Jets' offseason program, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets traded a seventh-round pick to Baltimore this March in exchange for Clark, who was expected to start at safety for his new team after recording a career-high 101 tackles last season. The Jets brought in another experienced starter shortly after Clark suffered the injury, signing former Packers and Bears safety Adrian Amos. The 28-year-old Clark will miss all of 2023 and is scheduled to become a free agent next offseason.

The Jets fear that Clark suffered an ACL tear during the team's offseason program, Jordan Schultz of TheScore.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After the Jets acquired him from the Ravens in March in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick, Clark appeared set to serve as a starting safety with his new team in 2023. However, Clark's knee injury now seemingly threatens his availability not just for the start of the season, but the entirety of the campaign. In response to Clark's injury, the Jets added veteran safety Adrian Amos to the roster Tuesday. Clark is coming off a 2022 season in which he recorded a career-high 101 total tackles to go along with four pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
