Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Chase Edmonds should start the game tonight at running back following his impressive performances in preseason so far. Battling with T.J. Logan for the backup running back job, Edmonds will likely take over in the event of a David Johnson absence. Therefore, he should be considered a solid handcuff with some late round fantasy appeal given the expected workload for Johnson in 2018.

Selecting which rookies to invest in can be a major headache for fantasy owners. Early on it is really tough to know what role a rookie will have early or whether his game can translate from college. At least now we can see roughly what role rookies are expected to have with their teams in year one, as well as having a feeling for what they might give you going forward. In the absence of veteran David Johnson, who was rested, young backs T.J. Logan and Chase Edmonds played well in their team's victory against the Dallas Cowboys. Logan had 11 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown with a long carry of 59 yards while Edmonds had 11 carries for 55 yards. Both backs figure to play a complimentary role to Johnson for the year. This weekend saw the fantasy football world converge on the football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, for the inaugural King's Classic. Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Chase Edmonds has been listed as the team's RB2 behind David Johnson in their first unofficial depth chart. Edmonds has proven to be electric in training camp, and a good preseason should help his case to see the field as often as possible in 2018. Although David Johnson is going to be the team's workhorse, Edmonds has decent handcuff value if something were to happen to the Pro-Bowl running back during the season.
