Week 2 Rankings Analysis - Nick Mariano vs. ECR rotoballer.com Fri 9/14/18 12:05 PM

Welcome, one and all, to the weekly piece that puts my rankings under the microscope and gives me a chance to explain myself against the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) found on FantasyPros. I did decently in Week 1, scoring 29th out of ~130 experts, but if I'm going to beat my 9th place finish from '17 then I've got work to do! I'll be examining my own ranks against the ECR on a position-by-position basis, as the overall and flex tabs can simply get insane with every position folded in with [...]

Week 1 Rankings Analysis - Nick Mariano vs. ECR rotoballer.com Fri 9/7/18 5:53 AM

Welcome, one and all, to the weekly piece that puts my rankings under the microscope and gives me a chance to explain myself against the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) found on FantasyPros. If this is your first time reading me, then hi! Why should you care about me? Well, my finish as the ninth-most accurate in-season expert on FantasyPros out of ~125 smart cookies last season should suffice. I'm out here trying to hang with the Sean Koerners and Jake Cielys of the world, and you'll have a [...]

Fantasy Football Pop Quiz - NFC West rotoballer.com Thu 9/6/18 4:45 AM

Call me a little biased. Ok, call me a lot biased. But as a San Francisco 49ers fan who is totally not upset about the Jerrick McKinnon thing, I'm most optimistic about the NFC West and all the potential that it holds for fantasy football. Even if there's a visible gap in top talent and the rest of the fantasy options, and a talent gap between the rest of the league and Seattle, the NFC [...]

We provide information on players that are owned in roughly 30% of leagues or less, so that you can make an educated decision about who to add to your squad. Chase Edmonds A Good Bet For Preseason Week 4 rotoballer.com Thu 8/30/18 8:35 AM

Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Chase Edmonds should start the game tonight at running back following his impressive performances in preseason so far. Battling with T.J. Logan for the backup running back job, Edmonds will likely take over in the event of a David Johnson absence. Therefore, he should be considered a solid handcuff with some late round fantasy appeal given the expected workload for Johnson in 2018.

Rookie Rankings and Draft Analysis rotoballer.com Thu 8/30/18 4:15 AM

Selecting which rookies to invest in can be a major headache for fantasy owners. Early on it is really tough to know what role a rookie will have early or whether his game can translate from college. At least now we can see roughly what role rookies are expected to have with their teams in year one, as well as having a feeling for what they might give you going forward. The other issue when looking at what rookies to draft is weighing up the short- and long-term benefits in a dynasty league. [...]

T.J. Logan and Chase Edmonds Feature At Running Back rotoballer.com Mon 8/27/18 6:13 AM

In the absence of veteran David Johnson, who was rested, young backs T.J. Logan and Chase Edmonds played well in their team's victory against the Dallas Cowboys. Logan had 11 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown with a long carry of 59 yards while Edmonds had 11 carries for 55 yards. Both backs figure to play a complimentary role to Johnson for the year. Should he go down with an injury, the obvious beneficiary is Chase Edmonds, the rookie who will likely be his direct backup for the year. Fo[...]

King's Classic Expert Draft Breakdown rotoballer.com Thu 8/23/18 4:00 AM

This weekend saw the fantasy football world converge on the football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, for the inaugural King's Classic. Thanks to Bob Lung and Brad Evans (among many others), we had 24 sites represented between two divisions -- Brown and Blanda, named for the first two players taken in the first ever fantasy football draft back in 1963 -- with each undertaking both a snake and auction draft for a truly fantasy-filled Saturday. Let it be known that Blanda was taken first and is there[...]

Chase Edmonds Listed As RB2 rotoballer.com Wed 8/8/18 6:39 AM

Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Chase Edmonds has been listed as the team's RB2 behind David Johnson in their first unofficial depth chart. Edmonds has proven to be electric in training camp, and a good preseason should help his case to see the field as often as possible in 2018. Although David Johnson is going to be the team's workhorse, Edmonds has decent handcuff value if something were to happen to the Pro-Bowl running back during the season.
