Clay (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
That said, it's expected that Clay will be able to return to action Sunday against the Saints, though the Bills could still elect to officially list the tight end as questionable for the contest.

Clay (knee) is taking part in the Bills' practice Thursday, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay could be upgraded to a full practice participant Thursday after he was limited during the Bills' first session of the week, but even if there's no change in his status, it appears he'll be ready to play Sunday against the Saints. If that's the case, Clay should take back starting duties at tight end and see a healthy snap count, with Nick O'Leary fading into a backup role at the position.

Clay, who returned to a limited practice Wednesday, is on track to return to action Sunday against the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Barring any setbacks, Clay is slated to return to the Bills' lineup in Week 10 after missing three games. He'll look to reprise the rapport he enjoyed with QB Tyrod Taylor prior to his knee injury, which led to the tight end hauling in 20 passes for 258 yards and two TDs through his first five outings in 2017.

Clay, who's missed the last three games after undergoing a knee procedure, will practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay has a decent shot to return this week against the Saints, but we'll know more as the practice week unfolds.

Clay (knee) did not practice Monday but did dress and performed work off to the side, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Sean McDermott continues to call his starting tight end day-to-day, but we'll have to wait until Wednesday's practice to get a better grasp on his outlook for suiting up in this week's game against the Saints.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that it's "realistic" for Clay (knee) to play in the team's Week 10 matchup with the Saints, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay was on the sideline for Thursday's loss to the Jets, marking the third consecutive game the tight end has missed since undergoing surgery to address a torn meniscus and sprained MCL. Since Clay has been unable to practice in any capacity since requiring the operation, he'll likely need to put forth a full session or two at some point next week in order for the Bills to sign off on his return. Prior to missing time with the injury, Clay had been the team's most productive weapon in the passing game, reeling in 20 passes for 258 yards and two scores in five contests.

Clay (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay was facing an uphill battle all along to return to action on a short week, and his lack of participation in practices Monday through Wednesday ultimately sealed his fate. With Clay set to miss a third consecutive game, Nick O'Leary will once again step in as the team's starting tight end.

Head coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that Clay (knee) is "going to have a hard time" playing Thursday against the Jets, Vic Carucci of The Buffalo Newsi reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Oct. 9 and hasn't practiced in the interim. However, McDermott has alternated between talking up Clay's progress and comments like the one made Tuesday. Until Clay takes part in drills, he cannot be considered a candidate to return, giving Nick O'Leary additional opportunity to start at tight end.

Clay (knee) won't participate in Monday's practice, but Bills coach Sean McDermott did say the tight end is making progress, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay was spotted at Friday's practice but ultimately listed as a non-participant, and he was ruled out on the final injury report for a second straight week. Given that he suffered a torn meniscus and sprained MCL in an Oct. 8 loss to the Bengals, it will be a major surprise if the veteran tight end is available any sooner than Week 10. He probably doesn't have any real chance to return for Thursday's game against the Jets, leaving Nick O'Leary as the Bills' top tight end for a third straight game.

Clay (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Sean McDermott said last week that Clay was making good progress in his recovery, but he has not yet advanced to the point where he can practice, so he will remain sidelined for another week. It's not clear how much longer he will be out, but it will be tough for him to make it back in Week 9 with the Bills playing the Thursday night contest.
