Williams is hoping to impress a new coaching staff, but he'll have competition from free-agent signee Kevin White and rookies Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler and KeeSean Johnson, Kevin Zimmerman of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2017 third-round pick, Williams has caught just 20 of 52 targets for 202 yards and a touchdown in 16 career games. Coach Kliff Kingsbury is known for an offense that places a heavy burden on the wide receivers, but even so, it isn't clear where Williams fits in. The 24-year-old needs to make a strong impression during training camp and preseason just to keep his spot on the roster.

Williams compiled 17 catches (on 46 targets) for 171 yards and one touchdown in 10 games during the 2018 campaign. He also added one carry for nine yards.
EDGE Analysis
Since he was plucked by the Cardinals in the third round of the 2017 draft, Williams hasn't exactly had an ideal quarterback situation, but a horrid career catch rate of 37.7 percent (20 receptions on 53 targets) is more indicative of his own play than the four signal-callers (Carson Palmer, Blaine Gabbert, Sam Bradford and Josh Rosen) that have directed passes his way. Overall, Williams has been held to one or fewer catches in 16 appearances with the Cardinals, leaving him on the periphery of Arizona's receiving corps. Assuming Larry Fitzgerald returns in 2019, Williams also will have to contend with rookie sensation Christian Kirk (foot), Trent Sherfield and any other wideouts added in the offseason.

Williams brought in one of four targets for seven yards in the Cardinals' 31-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams' return after a six-game absence due to a hamstring injury was a dud, as he managed just a 25 percent catch rate while seeing both Trent Sherfield and Larry Fitzgerald outpace him in receptions by five apiece. Williams' second season has been just as disappointing as his rookie campaign, as he now has just 11 receptions on 31 targets for 113 yards and is sporting the same 10.3 YPC figure he generated a year ago. The Grambling product will look to finish out on a strong note versus the Seahawks in Week 17.

Williams (hamstring) put in a full practice Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Rams, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams is set to put a six-game absence to an end this weekend, though the extended break may force him to settle for a more limited role in the Cardinals' passing attack than he held prior to the injury. Even though he started each of the Cardinals' first eight games, Williams was one of the NFL's least efficient receivers, catching just 35.5 percent of the balls directed his way for 3.6 yards per target.

Williams (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has pushed the door ajar for a return with individual drills at both of the Cardinals' last two practices. He even got a semi-endorsement from coach Steve Wilks, who told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com on Monday that he's "very hopeful" Williams will end a six-game absence. In a receiving corps with plenty of targets to go around behind Larry Fitzgerald, only undrafted rookie Trent Sherfield has taken advantage of the situation this season.

Coach Steve Wilks said he is "hopeful" Williams will be able to play Sunday against the Rams, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams has missed the last six games but finally returned to practice Friday for the first time since Nov. 30. The 24-year-old's status should receive further clarification once the Cardinals resume practice Wednesday, but he'll likely need to practice fully by Friday if he is to avoid an injury designation, given his extended absence.

Williams (hamstring) is listed as inactive Sunday at Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite practicing for the first time since Nov. 30 on Friday, Williams' hamstring isn't healthy enough to clear him for a return to action. While he embarks on his sixth consecutive absence, the Cardinals' receiving corps will be Larry Fitzgerald and not much else Week 15.

Williams (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams made his presence felt in practice for the first time since Nov. 30, so there appears to be a chance he'll stop his DNP streak at five games this weekend. If he does, he'll contend with Trent Sherfield for offensive snaps behind Larry Fitzgerald, but Williams' 3.8 yards per target as a pro doesn't offer much promise.

Williams (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams hasn't dressed for a game since Week 8, and his lack of practice participation Wednesday and Thursday doesn't offer much hope that his streak of absences will come to an end Sunday in Atlanta. Trent Sherfield will continue to benefit from added snaps and targets alongside top wideout Larry Fitzgerald while Williams is sidelined.

Williams (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing four games due to an ankle injury, Williams appeared set to take advantage of a receiving corps without rookie Christian Kirk, who suffered a broken foot Week 13. Williams was listed as a full participant in every practice last week, but the Cardinals added him to the practice report Saturday with a hamstring issue, following a questionable designation with inactive status again Sunday versus the Lions. With no reps to start this week, his prospects don't look great for a Week 15 visit to Atlanta. Look for undrafted rookie Trent Sherfield to continue acting as the No. 2 wide receiver, even if Williams is able to return before season's end.
