Brate brought in two of four targets for 11 yards in the Buccaneers' 33-27 overtime win over the Bills on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Brate played on just 25% of the snaps, equating to 21 plays from scrimmage. The veteran tight end is still clearly ahead of non-factor O.J. Howard (five snaps), but as long as Rob Gronkowski is healthy, Brate is typically a touchdown-or-bust option each week.

Brate secured his only target for a three-yard touchdown in the Buccaneers' 30-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end played just 19 percent of snaps (13), but he was able to make good use of his one reception. Brate's three-yard score late in the first quarter served as his second touchdown of the season, matching his 2020 total, which was achieved over 16 games. His visit to the end zone notwithstanding, he remains an option only in very deep PPR formats and as a DFS dart throw due to his typically low volume and limited role behind Rob Gronkowski.

Brate secured three of four targets for 23 yards in the Buccaneers' 38-31 win over the Colts on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The tight ends were a focal point of the air attack against a Colts defense adept at limiting wideout production, and although Brate's totals were a far cry from those of Rob Gronkowski's, he still turned in a serviceable line for those holding him in very deep PPR formats. Brate now has multiple grabs in three of the past four contests, although Sunday's tally represented his best figure during that period.

Brate brought in two of six targets for 27 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-10 win over the Giants on Monday night.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end wasn't able to pay another visit to the end zone as he had in Week 10, but Brate was able to tie his season high in targets. He wasn't exactly efficient with his opportunities, yet Brate did encouraging log 35 snaps (45%) despite Rob Gronkowski's return to action from his back injury. Due to his generally modest role, Brate remains a consideration only in very deep formats and as a DFS dart throw for the foreseeable future.

Brate brought in one of three targets for a six-yard touchdown in the Buccaneers' 29-19 loss to Washington on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end recorded a six-yard touchdown grab with 8:46 remaining in the third quarter to bring the Buccaneers to within three points at the time. Brate's visit to the end zone was his first since January's NFC Championship Game win over the Packers, but his volatile week-to-week production and the potential return to action of Rob Gronkowski (back) in Week 11 against the Giants makes him a risky proposition in fantasy.

Brate secured two of four targets for 15 yards in the Buccaneers' 36-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite Rob Gronkowski exiting after just six snaps with back spasms and Antonio Brown (ankle) sitting out another contest, Brate was disappointingly quiet yet again. The veteran did spend more time on the field than position mate O.J. Howard by out-snapping him, 37-28, but the two ended up with the same number of catches, and Brate actually had one fewer yard. It seems evident at this point that fantasy managers should have very low expectations for Brate even if Gronkowski remains out Week 10 against Washington following the Week 9 bye.

Brate failed to bring in any of his four targets in the Buccaneers' 38-3 win over the Bears on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a thoroughly disappointing afternoon for the veteran tight end, considering he logged a solid 40 snaps and yet came up empty. Brate has two or fewer catches in three of his past four contests, and with Rob Gronkowski (ribs) possibly back for the Week 8 battle against the Saints, his outlook may not brighten anytime soon.

Brate brought in three of four targets for 26 yards in the Buccaneers' 28-22 win over the Eagles on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end saw a boost from the one-catch effort he'd turned in against the Dolphins five days earlier, but he was still doubled up by position mate O.J. Howard in receptions despite seeing only five fewer snaps (44-49) than his teammate. Brate has been the steadier producer of the two players even when Rob Gronkowski (ribs) has been healthy, yet both figure to see their opportunities take a hit if the latter is able to suit up for the Week 7 home matchup against the Bears a week from Sunday.

Brate secured his only target for 12 yards in the Buccaneers' 45-17 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end logged only 27 snaps from scrimmage against Miami, 16 fewer than position mate O.J. Howard, who also saw two more targets. Howard had been the least involved of the two up to Sunday, and both players could see a further decline in opportunity as soon as Rob Gronkowski (ribs) returns to action.

Brate is expected to make his second straight start Sunday against the Dolphins with top tight end Rob Gronkowski (ribs) ruled out for the contest.
EDGE Analysis
While Gronkowski's cracked ribs and punctured lung prevented him from playing in the Week 4 win over New England, Brate drew the start and played 64 percent of the offensive snaps. Meanwhile, fellow tight end O.J. Howard (68 percent) saw more field time, but he was deployed mostly as a blocker, running only 16 routes and drawing one target to Brate's 33 and six, respectively. Even if the playing-time split between Brate and Howard remains relatively equitable again Week 5, the former profiles as the more fantasy-friendly option.
