Sims (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sims, Curtis Samuel (groin) and Dyami Brown (knee) all didn't practice Wednesday, so it'll be important for fantasy managers to monitor their practice status throughout the week. Terry McLaurin and Adam Humphries are currently Washington's top two wideouts, but they will need all hands on deck when they face the Saints on Sunday.

Sims has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a hamstring injury.
EDGE Analysis
Sims wasn't targeted to begin Sunday's game, but he went down in the fourth quarter and will be unable to return. DeAndre Carter could see a slight uptick in playing time with Sims unavailable.

Sims played two snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Chargers, catching his lone target for a 17-yard gain.
EDGE Analysis
There was some thought Sims and Dyami Brown would share the No. 2 receiver role with Curtis Samuel (groin) on injured reserve for at least the first three weeks of the season. Brown finished with just one catch for a loss of two yards on four targets, but he dominated playing time with a 93 percent snap share, while Sims got most of his work on special teams. It is possible Sims gets a little more playing time Week 2, but he won't be a recommended fantasy play for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Sims and Dyami Brown should get more playing time after Curtis Samuel (groin) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Peter Hailey of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown, a rookie third-round pick, is more interesting from a fantasy standpoint, as Sims failed to attract targets last year -- averaging 4.5 in 10 starts -- while playing in an offense that allowed RB J.D. McKissic and TE Logan Thomas to hit triple digits. That said, Sims finished the year with 9.9 yards per target, and at 6-5, 215, he's probably a better blocker than the rookie. Washington could use one or both to replace Samuel in the No. 2 receiver role, while Adam Humphries and J.D. McKissic also may benefit from a few extra snaps and/or targets.

Sims caught two of three targets for 19 yards in Friday's preseason win over Cincinnati, but he lost a fumble on one of the receptions.
EDGE Analysis
If you're looking for a silver lining, the fumble did come while QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and the first-team offense were still on the field. Then again, Sims might not've been on the field with them if Curtis Samuel (groin) had been ready to play. In any case, the 6-5 wideout finds himself competing for a roster spot after starting for much of last season, as Washington added Samuel, Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries this offseason. Sims looks like the fourth or fifth option at wide receiver, if he keeps his roster spot at all.

Sims signed his restricted free agent tender Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Sims waited a week before signing, ultimately unable to find a contract offer any better than the one-year, $2.13 million tender. The 2018 UDFA played only 56 offensive snaps in eight games through his first two seasons, before starting in 10 of his 16 appearances in 2020. Sims averaged 14.9 yards per catch and 9.9 per target last year, but he was targeted on only 12.2 percent of his routes, essentially making him an afterthought behind Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas and J.D. McKissic. With Curtis Samuel now joining the team, Sims may find himself in a camp battle for the third or fourth spot on the wideout depth chart. Steven Sims, Kelvin Harmon (knee), Antonio Gandy-Golden and Isaiah Wright could also compete for those roles, and Washington still has time to add more talent this offseason.

Washington extended a low-round tender to restricted free agent Sims on Tuesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sims went undrafted out of Alabama in 2018, so if he receives an offer sheet on the open market, the Football Team only has the right of first refusal and won't receive draft compensation if it opts not to match the deal. After putting up a 32-477-1 line on 49 targets in 16 games last season, he may draw some interest from other organizations, especially considering nine of his receptions went for 20-plus yards.

Sims brought in seven of 13 targets for 104 yards in Washington's 31-23 wild-card loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
Sims recorded a team-high 36-yard reception on his way to leading Washington in catches, receiving yards and targets. The third-year wideout eclipsed the century mark only once during the regular season, a 110-yard effort against the Giants in Week 9. After recording just two receptions for 27 yards in his first two seasons, Sims had a breakout of sorts in 2020 with a 32-477-1 line across 16 games. He'll now head into the offseason with some momentum following Saturday night's stellar showing and will look to make an even bigger impact in 2021.

Sims caught each of his five targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Sims played every single snap on offense for a second straight week, making his 10th consecutive start to close out the season. He averaged 62.3 snaps but only 4.5 targets in those 10 starts, catching 29 of 45 passes for 438 yards. While he should keep his starting job for the playoffs, Sims figures to face competition in the offseason.

Sims caught three of nine targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
With Terry McLaurin (ankle) inactive, Sims led Washington wideouts in targets, though TE Logan Thomas (12) and RB J.D. McKissic (10) both saw more. Apart from his 50-yard gain on a Dwayne Haskins scramble drill in the third quarter, Sims mostly had a tough go of it, producing just 19 yards on his other eight targets. He nearly made a diving catch for a 43-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but the ball bounced out of his hands. This was the third time in four weeks Sims has drawn eight or more targets, so he could rebound against the slumping Eagles defense Week 17, especially if McLaurin is out again and/or QB Alex Smith (ankle) is able to return.
