Reed (groin) is starting Sunday against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
In his Falcons debut, Reed will line up versus his former team at strong-side linebacker, where he'll act as more of a pass rusher than a tackle machine.

Reed (groin) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Limited both Wednesday and Thursday, Reed finally logged a full practice Friday, setting him up for his regular-season Falcons debut. It's not entirely clear that he'll start, but he should get some snaps as both a strongside linebacker and defensive end. Reed can safely be ignored for IDP purposes.

Reed (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks was trending in the right direction, practicing on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday, but coach Dan Quinn was unwilling to rule Reed fit for game time which will force him to miss his third consecutive game. O'Brien Schofield will most likely take his place at outside linebacker when the Falcons face the Cowboys on Sunday.

Reed (groin) will be limited during practice Thursday, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was initially going to be placed on the IR/designated-to-return list, but the Falcons rightly believed Reed could return sooner than the required eight week wait. While the 27-year-old linebacker has missed the first two games of the season, he was able to participate in some drills Wednesday without any setbacks. Still coach Dan Quinn is not quite ready to rule Reed ready for game-time action, however his practice status is certainly a step in the right direction.

Reed (groin) will not practice Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
No surprise here, as Reed will be on the shelf till at least October after undergoing groin surgery during the preseason. O'Brien Schofield got the start in place of the injured Reed during Monday's game against the Eagles, recording just one tackle in 44 snaps.

Reed (groin) will not play in Monday's game against the Eagles, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reed is expected to be out until sometime in October after undergoing groin surgery, so it comes as no surprise that he will sit out in Week 1. O'Brien Schofield will start at linebacker until Reed is ready to return.

Updating a previous report, Reed (groin) will not be placed on the Falcons' IR/designated-to-return list.
EDGE Analysis
It's still likely the groin injury keeps Reed unavailable for the Week 1 opener against the Eagles and possibly a few more games to come, but the Falcons seem optimistic the linebacker won't have to sit out until Week 9, which a short-term IR stint would have necessitated. O'Brien Schofield could be called upon to start on the strong side until Reed is ready to go.

Reed was placed on injured reserved/ designated to return on Sunday, Vaughn McClure reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reed suffered a groin injury during training camp, and underwent surgery earlier this week. He will have to spend at least six weeks on injured reserved, but will likely be out for at least eight weeks recovering from surgery.

Reed underwent groin surgery this week and he will be sidelined for six weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reed joined the Falcons after spending his first four years in the league with the Texans. His loss will be a blow to Atlanta's already suspect run defense. O'Brien Schofield is a candidate to take Reed's spot at strongside linebacker.

Reed (groin) is merely taking part in individual drills during the Chiefs' minicamp, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. Head coach Dan Quinn relayed that Reed's activity level will be bumped up to 7-on-7 work in the near future. However, expect caution to reign as Reed prepares for his first campaign with the Falcons. In his first four years with the Texans, he averaged 42 tackles and 3.6 sacks in 15 games per season.
