Washington signed Johnson off Chicago's practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the second time this season, Johnson has been plucked from the Bears due to kicker injuries elsewhere in the league. In Washington, Joey Slye pulled his hamstring near the end of the first half of Monday's 17-15 win against the Seahawks and didn't play after halftime. With Slye poised to miss a few weeks of action, Johnson will be called upon to handle placekicking duties in the nation's capitol. In four games for the Saints from Weeks 7-10, Johnson connected on all eight field-goal attempts and five of eight point-after tries.

Chicago signed Johnson to the practice squad Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson converted all eight of his field-goal attempts in four games with New Orleans this season, but he was only successful on five of eight extra-point tries. Now, he will provide the Bears with some emergency depth behind Cairo Santos.

New Orleans waived Johnson on Friday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Saints will make their fourth kicking change of the season, dropping Johnson after a four-game run on the roster. Though Johnson was a perfect 8-for-8 on field-goal attempts, he ended up losing the job after misfiring on two extra-point attempts in a two-point loss to the Titans last week. The Saints signed Brett Maher off their practice squad to take over kicking duties beginning with Sunday's game against the Eagles.

Johnson made his only field-goal attempt but missed both PATs during Sunday's 23-21 loss to Tennessee.
EDGE Analysis
While still perfect with his field-goal attempts since arriving in New Orleans a month ago, Johnson has now missed three extra points in the past three weeks. This time, the miscues wound up being the difference in the game for New Orleans, which had a chance to tie the game with a two-point conversion in the closing minute. Given his success on non-PATs, it would seem that Johnson's job security remains intact, but any continued struggles with short-range kicks could prompt the Saints to explore other options in the coming weeks.

Johnson converted both of his field-goal attempts and his lone PAT during Sunday's 27-25 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson wasn't needed for anything before halftime, but he nailed kicks from 35 and 52 yards in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. While he unfortunately lost out on a pair of PATs thanks to New Orleans' attempts to go for two at the end of the game, Johnson still managed a respectable fantasy performance - especially in leagues that reward points for added distances. In fact, the 22-year-old has been among the most productive kickers in fantasy since taking over the Saints' kicking job three weeks ago. Regardless of whether Trevor Siemian or Taysom Hill starts at quarterback in Week 10, Johnson seems like he could be a reliable fantasy option within New Orleans' offensive system.

Johnson converted three of three field-goal attempts and three of four PATs during Sunday's 36-27 win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
This was easily the most productive performance the Saints have had from a kicker this season, but Johnson missed an extra point and his longest kick was only 35 yards. While it's not yet a concern through two games that Johnson hasn't attempted a field goal from beyond 40 yards, it's definitely something to keep an eye on for Johnson's upside going forward as New Orleans looks to replace Wil Lutz (abdomen). This potential lack of trust would especially be a problem if Jameis Winston (knee) is forced to miss time, as the offense may experience more than a couple of hiccups if it needs to transition to Taysom Hill (concussion) or Trevor Siemian.

Johnson converted on all three of his kicks in Monday's 13-10 win over the Seahawks, knocking down his lone extra-point attempt and hitting field goals of 21 and 33 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Making his NFL debut Monday, Johnson became the Saints' third kicker of the season after New Orleans moved on from both Aldrick Rosas and Cody Parkey. The 22-year-old wasn't tasked with any overly challenging kicks in his first game, but he at least came through in the clutch, as his 33-yarder with 1:56 remaining broke a 10-10 tie. Johnson now looks like he could benefit from an extended run as the Saints' kicker; according to Jeff Duncan of The Athletic, No. 1 kicker Wil Lutz -- who has been sidelined all season following core-muscle surgery in August -- announced Tuesday that he'll remain on injured reserve for the rest of 2021 after experiencing a setback in his return to practice last week.

Johnson will handle placekicking duties for the Saints on Monday in Seattle after Will Lutz (core) wasn't activated from injured reserve, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lutz's three-week window to return to the active roster was opened last Monday, but one week wasn't enough for him to get up to speed. Johnson thus will be the third kicker used by New Orleans this season after Aldrick Rosas and Cody Parkey. An undrafted rookie, Johnson will be making his pro debut after making both of his field-goal attempts for the Bears back in the preseason.

The Saints signed Johnson off the Bears' practice squad Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Because he was poached from another organization's practice squad, Johnson must remain on the Saints' active roster for at least three games. With that in mind, New Orleans -- which is on bye Week 6 -- presumably plans on having Johnson serve as its kicker through at least the Week 9 game against the Falcons. Johnson, an undrafted rookie out of Virginia Tech, played for the Bears during the preseason and knocked down both of his field-goal attempts, including one from 54 yards. He could end up holding down the Saints' kicking job until the team is confident top option Wil Lutz is ready to return from injured reserve after having been sidelined all season while recovering from core-muscle surgery. Cody Parkey, who will be placed on IR on Tuesday, could also be an option to kick for the Saints later in the season if he returns before Lutz and if Johnson doesn't impress.

EDGE Analysis
Johnson signed with Chicago after going undrafted out of Virginia Tech in the spring, but he was unable to beat out Cairo Santos for the kicking job in camp.
