The Steelers haven't ruled out re-signing free agents Brett Keisel and James Harrison. Specifically, GM Kevin Colbert said the team hasn't ruled out signing "anybody." Keisel, who turns 36 in September, has made no-known visits since hitting the open market in March. He'd be an option behind LE Cam Thomas in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers are interested in re-signing free agent DE Brett Keisel to a one-year, minimum-salary deal. Beat writer Ed Bouchette believes "it makes just too much sense for [Keisel] not to rejoin the Steelers." The soon-to-be 36-year-old wouldn't be asked to play a full complement of snaps should be be re-signed, but Keisel could help mentor rookie DE Stephon Tuitt and the other young defensive linemen on the Steelers.

ESPN's Scott Brown believes the Steelers could be waiting until after June 1 to re-sign free agent Brett Keisel. Keisel hasn't received any free-agent interest to this point, but remains committed to playing this season. He could be used in a rotation opposite Cameron Heyward, with rookie Stephon Tuitt, Cam Thomas, and Nick Williams also in the mix for snaps. The Steelers currently have just $357,896 in cap space, but will be getting back $2.41 million next month from releasing LaMarr Woodley.

The Steelers "haven't shown any inclination" to re-sign free agent Brett Keisel. Keisel is reportedly committed to playing this season, but isn't more than a situational player at this stage of his career. It's possible the Steelers could wait until after June 1 to sign Keisel when they get salary-cap relief from releasing LaMarr Woodley.

Free agent DE Brett Keisel has no intention of retiring. Keisel is 35 years old, but is reportedly dedicated to playing and in great shape. He's spent his entire 11-year career with the Steelers, who have made no public statements about wanting him back. CBS' Jason La Canfora suggests the Jets as a possible fit.

Impending free agent DE Brett Keisel sounds as if he plans to continue his playing career. Keisel, 35, admitted last summer that the 2013 season may be his final one. It doesn't appear that's the case. Keisel was in New York earlier this week as part of the Super Bowl week festivities and said his preference is to re-sign with the Steelers, but also mentioned he'd be interested in playing for the Lions. Keisel registered 29 tackles and four sacks across 12 games this past season.

The Steelers are not expected to retain longtime RE Brett Keisel or FS Ryan Clark. Both are free agents. The Steelers need a facelift on a defense that has gotten too old, and 35-year-old Keisel is no longer the answer at right end. After managing four sacks in a dozen 2013 appearances, Keisel may not generate interest as a starter in free agency. Clark is 34 and also clearly in decline.

Steelers RE Brett Keisel (foot) will not play in Week 14. Keisel sustained a setback with his plantar fasciitis issue during the Thanksgiving loss to the Ravens. At age 35 and in the final year of his contract, this is a career-threatening injury.

Steelers RE Brett Keisel (plantar fasciitis) is practicing in full for Week 13, and expected to return for Thursday's game against the Ravens. Keisel had sat out the past two weeks after suiting up for each of the Steelers' first nine games. He'll be returning to 25 tackles and two sacks. It's a mild boost for Pittsburgh's front seven.
