Free-agent tight end Brent Celek announced his retirement on Thursday. He was the Philadelphia Eagles longest-tenured player but was released in March after winning a Super Bowl last season. Brent Celek Leaning Toward Retirement rotoballer.com Fri 8/17/18 1:22 PM

Free-agent tight end Brent Celek said he isn't interested in playing for the Cowboys and is leaning toward retirement. "I think I'm leaning more toward retirement," Celek said. "I've had a few offers, but none of them are worth leaving a city that I have been in for 11 years where I won the Super Bowl in my final year. It wouldn't feel right to put another uniform on." Celek spent 11 years with the Eagles before being cut earlier this year. His best season came in 2009 when he had 76 receptions [...]

Lions Host Brent Celek rotoballer.com Thu 3/15/18 9:49 AM

Former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek is visiting with the Detroit Lions. Celek has primarily been a blocking tight end in his career and would fill the void left by Darren Fells, who signed with the Browns. However, Detroit also recently released Eric Ebron, so Celek could fill more of a traditional pass-catching role with the Lions. Still, he'd probably be more of a TE2 if that were the case.

Eagles Release Brent Celek rotoballer.com Wed 3/14/18 8:26 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles released veteran tight end Brent Celek. Celek was the Eagles longest-tenured player and now he'll be a free agent. Almost strictly a blocking tight end at this point in his career, Celek should be able to find a new team before long, but he won't have any real fantasy value going forward.

Brent Celek Plans to Return for Another Season rotoballer.com Tue 3/6/18 12:26 PM

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek confirmed on Tuesday that he plans to return for a 12th NFL season in 2018. There were rumors that Celek was considering retirement, but he responded to those by saying, "I want to play" on Tuesday. Celek is extremely durable, but is a pure blocking tight end. He hasn't missed a game since 2012, but has only caught 27 passes over the past two seasons. He's a valuable piece of the Philly offense, but he's due $4 million in 2018, a number the cap-battling [...]

Eagles Tight End Brent Celek Could Retire rotoballer.com Mon 2/12/18 5:17 PM

This article references Brent Celek and more! Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek could retire this offseason. Talk about going out on top. Celek was the blocking element of the Eagles tight ends, playing behind pass-catcher Zach Ertz. Celek was in on just over 40 percent of the offensive snaps taken by the Eagles in 2017. Celek has spent all 11 years of his NFL career in Philadelphia, but could save the Eagles $4 million against the cap, which they could certainly use. Not much of a name in fantasy due to his role, Celek was still a [...]Keep on reading: Eagles Tight End Brent Celek Could Retire

2017 Likely Brent Celek's Last In Philly rotoballer.com Thu 7/13/17 11:57 AM

This article references Brent Celek and more! Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek isn't likely to remain with the team past 2017, as he's scheduled to count $5 million against the salary cap in 2018 after averaging less than one catch per game in 2016 and finishing without a touchdown for the first time in his career. Celek remains the best blocking tight end on the team, but Zach Ertz is the unquestioned pass catcher, and Celek should be ignored in all fantasy formats.Keep on reading: 2017 Likely Brent Celek's Last In Philly

This article references Brent Celek, Zach Ertz and more!
