The Bengals have reportedly joined the Packers in a shared interest for free agent Brandon Jackson. The Bengals' interest is somewhat surprising. Bernard Scott hasn't been able to overtake Brian Leonard on third downs for two years. Perhaps the coaching staff believes he's better in a pure change-of-pace role.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette's Paul Dougherty puts free agent Brandon Jackson's chances of returning to the Packers at "50-50." Dougherty thinks Jackson may be more valuable to the Packers than other teams because he's "proven proficient at picking up blitzes in a passing-down role in their scheme." With Ryan Grant set to return and rookie Alex Green now in the fold, however, there's not a very clear path for Jackson's return to the Packers.
