Banks signed with the Colts on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Banks spent the 2017 campaign with the Redskins, suiting up for one game and making one solo tackle. The Colts brought him in for depth during the final two preseason games, but he's a long shot to make the 53-man roster out of camp.

The Redskins will not tender restricted free agent WR/KR Brandon Banks a contract, making him an unrestricted free agent. Per beat writer Rich Campbell, Banks is "not expected to return." The pint-sized returner narrowly made the roster last summer, and was stripped of return duties down the stretch. Banks has game-breaking potential on special teams, but will have a rough go of it in free agency.

The Washington Post "would not be surprised" if the Redskins let restricted free agents WR/KR Brandon Banks and DT Chris Baker walk. The Redskins have been locking up their restricted free agents on Saturday, but Banks and Baker aren't expected to be tendered. Banks fell out of favor late in the season after not doing much with his opportunities, and Baker registered just 15 tackles in 14 games.

Redskins declared WR/KR Brandon Banks, WR Dezmon Briscoe, S DeJon Gomes, LB Roddrick Muckelroy, LB Vic So'oto, T Tom Compton and OG Adam Gettis inactive for Week 17 against the Cowboys. At least on offense, the Redskins are as healthy as they've been all season. That's good news as they attempt to earn their first playoff berth since 2007-08. With the Bears' win this afternoon, the Redskins can no longer get into the postseason tournament without a victory, so tonight is truly win or go home.

Redskins declared WR/KR Brandon Banks inactive for Sunday's Week 15 game against the Browns. Banks is a healthy scratch again, leaving Niles Paul to return kicks and Richard Crawford to return punts. Of course, the Redskins have already declared that Robert Griffin III (knee) is inactive, leaving Kirk Cousins to start and Rex Grossman to back him up. The rest of their scratches: WR Dezmon Briscoe, LB Roddrick Muckelroy, OL Josh LeRibeus, T Tom Compton and G Adam Gettis.

Redskins declared WR Brandon Banks, QB Rex Grossman, WR Dez Briscoe, LB Roddrick Muckelroy, OG Josh LeRibeus, OG Tom Compton, and OG Adam Gettis inactive for Week 14 versus the Ravens. LT Trent Williams (thigh), ILB London Fletcher (ankle), and CB DeAngelo Hall (ankle) are all active, as expected. Banks is a surprrise inactive because he's been part of the Redskins' pistol package as a sidecar to Robert Griffin III. On the other hand, he hasn't done much with the opportunity.

The Washington Post expects WR/KR Brandon Banks to beat out Terrence Austin, Aldrick Robinson and Anthony Armstrong for the Redskins' final receiver spot. Robinson still has practice-squad eligibility, while Armstrong has been slowed by a shoulder injury. Banks has made only one catch in three preseason games after coach Mike Shanahan said he couldn't rely on his return ability alone to hold his roster spot, but Banks offered up a timely reminder of his game-breaking ability by taking a kick 91 yards to the house against Chicago.

Redskins WR/KR Brandon Banks "struggled to get (separation)" in Thursday's preseason opener. Banks was targeted a team-high nine times, but made just two catches for 10 yards. Coach Mike Shanahan has said Banks will not make the team as a return specialist alone. The 5-foot-7, 165-pound wideout's chances of holding his roster spot appear slim.
