Free agent Bo Scaife "struggled with conditioning" during Patriots practices, according to the Boston Herald. The Patriots signed Scaife back on June 7, but he lasted just 11 days on the roster. Showing up out of shape is a sure way to land on coach Bill Belichick's bad side. Scaife is no lock to get back in the NFL.

Patriots released TE Bo Scaife and OT Mike Ingersoll. Scaife only lasted 11 days on the roster after being signed off the street on June 7. It's probably not a good sign for his future in the league. Ingersoll is a practice squad-type tackle who previously spent time with the Bucs.

Patriots signed TE Bo Scaife. Scaife is a poor blocker and doesn't have much playmaking ability left at age 31, so it's a curious signing. The Patriots are obviously loaded at tight end with Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and blocker Daniel Fells. Scaife isn't a lock to stick on the roster once Gronk and Fells get healthy.

Patriots worked out free agent TE Bo Scaife. Coming on the heels of their Dallas Clark tryout two weeks ago, it suggests the Pats are simply performing due diligence in case of an injury to their own tight ends. Scaife (shoulder) spent the 2011 season on injured reserve after signing with the Bengals in August.

Bengals placed TE Bo Scaife (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season. The second opinion on Scaife's shoulder must have come back the same as the first. He was running as Cincinnati's No. 2 tight end behind Jermaine Gresham before going down. Scaife will turn 31 in January, and may have a hard time finding a job next offseason.

Bo Scaife is seeing specialists about the shoulder he injured in the third preseason game. Previous reports suggested that Scaife may be headed to IR. He's likely getting a second opinion to try to avoid a season-ending procedure.

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com is "hearing" that TE Bo Scaife is headed for injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Scaife, signed just three weeks ago, went down in Cincinnati's third preseason game Thursday night. He had been running as Jermaine Gresham's top backup.

Bengals signed TE Bo Scaife, formerly of the Titans. Scaife, 30, caught 36 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns last year. He hasn't topped 10 yards per reception since the 2006 season, and according to Pro Football Focus is an atrocious pass blocker. We suppose Scaife offers more experience than Chase Coffman, but the younger, cheaper player would make more sense to keep. Scaife has no chance at fantasy value in Cincy.

The Rams and Bengals have reportedly lined up free agent visits with TE Bo Scaife. Scaife hadn't drawn a whiff of free agent interest until this point. He could be a third-stringer in St. Louis behind Lance Kendricks and Michael Hoomanawanui, or a backup to Jermaine Gresham in Cincinnati. Scaife lacks any hint of playmaking ability as a receiver, however, and is also a poor blocker.
