Coach Mike Vrabel said he expects both Gabbert and Marcus Mariota (elbow) to get playing time in Sunday's game against the Texans, ESPN.com's Turron Davenport reports. "We are evaluating. Marcus is going to do everything he can to get ready, like every player is going to do," Vrabel said after Friday's practice. "I would anticipate both of those guys playing at some point and time."
EDGE Analysis
This is shaping up as a situation to avoid for fantasy purposes, especially with the Titans missing both starting tackles for a matchup against a tough defensive front. Mariota was a full practice participant to start the week, but his availability for Sunday came into question after he scaled back to limited participation Thursday and Friday. With Mariota listed as questionable on the final injury report, Gabbert could get his first start in a Tennessee uniform. There's apparently also some chance of Vrabel splitting snaps between the two quarterbacks -- a tactic rarely seen in the NFL.

Gabbert replaced an injured Marcus Mariota (elbow) in Sunday's 27-20, Week 1 loss to the Dolphins. He completed 11 of 22 passes for 117 yards and an interception.
EDGE Analysis
Gabbert did manage to lead a touchdown drive capped by a four-yard, Dion Lewis run, but the 2011 first-rounder struggled otherwise. If Mariota's forced to miss extended time, the entire Titans offense will be tough to trust with Gabbert at the helm.

Gabbert completed 16 of 24 passes for 158 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Titans' 16-6 preseason loss to the Steelers on Saturday. He also lost a yard on his sole rush.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Mike Vrabel afforded Gabbert the most work of his three quarterbacks by far, with Marcus Mariota putting up only eight pass attempts before exiting with 4:03 remaining in the first half. Gabbert looks to be an ideal backup, young enough to still be a viable option if asked to step in yet boasting a solid amount of starting experience on his resume. The 28-year-old isn't a threat to Mariota's starting job, but his performances through three preseason games (35-for-55 for 350 yards, two TDs, no INTs) imply that he'd be capable of keeping the Titans offense afloat for a certain period of time if the latter were to suffer an injury.

Gabbert reached an agreement to sign with the Titans on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Titans were searching for an upgrade for their No. 2 quarterback spot after releasing Matt Cassel earlier in March. While not exactly reliable, Gabbert is at least closer to Marcus Mariota in terms of playing style, having run for 440 yards on 94 carries (4.7 average) in 19 appearances for the 49ers and Cardinals the past three seasons. The 2011 first-round pick went 2-3 in five starts for Arizona last year, completing 95 of 171 passes (55.6 percent) for 1,086 yards (6.4 per attempt), with six touchdowns, six interceptions, 23 sacks and seven fumbles (two lost). Gabbert may have to fend off Alex Tanney or another veteran in a competition for Tennessee's backup job.

Gabbert will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following the retirements of quarterback Carson Palmer and head coach Bruce Arians, the Cardinals are starting from scratch from a scheme standpoint, which will be dictated by whoever GM Steve Keim brings in to replace Arians. As such, the quarterback room will have a different look from 2017, with Arians' favorite and unrestricted free agent Drew Stanton (torn ACL) almost certainly out of the picture. Gabbert could be in the same boat after an uninspiring run as Arizona's starting QB for five games this season. Overall, he completed just 55.6 percent of his throws for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns versus six interceptions. The 28-year-old will learn of his fate at some point in the coming months.

Drew Stanton will replace Gabbert as the starter for Week 16 against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Gabbert showed some promise with five touchdown passes in his first two starts, but he's thrown just one touchdown while taking 20 sacks over the past three games. While the supporting cast has obviously been a huge issue, it's still difficult to put a silver lining on his 55.6 completion percentage, 6:6 TD:INT ratio and league-worst 11.9 percent sack rate (min. 50 attempts). Stanton probably won't be much better, but he also can't possibly be much worse. The Cardinals entered the season with shaky pass-catching depth behind Larry Fitzgerald, and they've now seen both their offensive line and backfield get decimated by injuries.

Gabbert struggled in Sunday's 20-15 loss to Washington, completing just 16 of 41 passes for 189 yards and an interception while adding 28 yards on six rushes.
EDGE Analysis
Gabbert's been awful over the past two weeks, throwing for under 200 yards in each game while mustering a combined 0:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. It doesn't help that he's been sacked a combined 13 times in that span as well. With the Cardinals offense stuck in low gear, desperate deep-league owners could be in line for a surprisingly effective outing from the Giants defense next week in Arizona.

The Cardinals are interested in signing Gabbert to a contract extension, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Carson Palmer (arm) believed to be considering retirement, Gabbert could be the Cardinals' choice as a short-term bridge while they try to obtain a franchise quarterback. General manager John Keim at one point suggested that Gabbert might actually become that player, but the veteran's performance in four games as the starter hasn't done much to inspire confidence. He's completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 6.9 yards per attempt, tossing five touchdowns and four interceptions while absorbing 18 sacks (4.5 per game) and failing to make an impact as a runner (16 carries for 54 yards). Between his work this year and his performance in San Francisco the past two seasons, Gabbert hasn't provided much indication of being anything more than a solid backup.

Sun 12/10/17 7:45 PM

Gabbert completed 17 of 26 passes for 178 yards while rushing four times for 12 yards during Sunday's 12-7 victory over the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Gabbert struggled to get into any sort of rhythm in the first half, leading his team to just 64 yards of total offense thanks to a number of errant passes and four costly sacks -- including one where Gabbert simply ran out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. Although he failed to reach the end zone before the final whistle, Gabbert proceeded to orchestrate four scoring drives in the second half that just so happened to be enough for Arizona to pull out the victory. If the Missouri product retains the Cardinals' starting quarterback for another week, he'll draw a matchup with a middling Redskins defense that's about league average against the pass in most significant defensive categories. However, after posting a 1:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio across his past two starts while absorbing 15 sacks along the way, Gabbert is best left on the waiver wire for fantasy purposes.

Sun 12/3/17 8:01 PM

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said Gabbert will get another start Week 14 against the Titans, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gabbert didn't make the best case for himself in Sunday's 32-16 loss to the Rams, completing 18 of 32 passes for 221 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also took six sacks, but there's little reason to think Drew Stanton would've fared any better against a Rams defense that excels at defending the pass. With Carson Palmer (arm) unlikely to return this season and Stanton proven to be no better than a decent backup, Gabbert may get the chance to work his way through any late-season struggles, particularly now that the Cardinals don't have a realistic chance to make the playoffs. He'll get a much more favorable matchup in Week 14 when he returns to Arizona to face a Titans defense that just allowed Houston's Tom Savage to throw for 365 yards.
