Smith will sign with the Texans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith roster spot opens up due to the massive loss of J.J. Watt, whose back injury will place him on the injured reserve for an extended period of time. The veteran defensive end had a five-year stint with the Texans from '09-'13, during which he recorded 27 sacks.

Smith has agreed to a one-year deal with the Broncos, ESPN.com reports. The 33-year-old Smith, who recorded 20 tackles and three sacks in his only season with the Raiders, is slated to earn $2 million in 2015, per the report. With the Broncos, he'll be reunited with head coach Gary Kubiak, who Smith played for (with Houston) between 2009 and 2013. Look for Smith to bolster the Denver pass rush, but his modest tackle numbers restrict him to fantasy utility in deeper formats.

Smith was released by the Raiders on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Smith had a quiet 2014 season in Oakland, recording his lowest sack total (3.0) since 2006, with only 20 tackles to boot. Now 33 years old, he may have to settle for work as a rotational lineman, even though his ancillary pass-rushing statistics indicate that he probably should have had more than three sacks.

ESPN's Paul Gutierrez confirms the Raiders plan to use Antonio Smith at defensive tackle this season. Smith was a 3-4 end with the Texans, but will move inside in Oakland's base 4-3. The Raiders are expected to use Smith in a Lamarr Houston role, allowing him to focus on creating pressure as an interior pass rusher. Smith has 27 sacks over the last five seasons, but is a liability against the run.

Raiders sign DL Antonio Smith, formerly of the Texans, to a two-year, $9 million deal. Smith racked up 27 sacks over the last five seasons playing right end in Houston's 3-4 scheme, but may have to move inside in the Raiders' base 4-3 defense. Even at 32, Smith is an above average interior pass rusher and, along with new additions LaMarr Woodley and Justin Tuck, should improve an Oakland pass-rushing unit that struggled to get to the quarterback in 2013.
