The Buccaneers placed Brown on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday after he tested positive for the virus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Buccaneers were reported to be one of the NFL teams with a 100-percent vaccination rate, so if Brown is indeed vaccinated, he'll be able to return to the team if he reports two negative tests 24 hours apart. By all accounts, though, it'll be difficult for Brown to clear the necessary hurdles to be cleared for game action Sunday, when the Bucs take on the Rams in Los Angeles at 4:25 p.m. ET. If Brown is inactive Week 3, Scotty Miller would be the biggest beneficiary, with Tyler Johnson next in line on the wide receiver depth chart and rookie fourth-rounder Jaelon Darden on hand to make his pro debut, if need be.

The Buccaneers placed Brown on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, and he'll now need to test negative for the virus 24 hours apart to be eligible for Sunday's game at Los Angeles, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greg Auman of The Athletic suggests Brown is likely to miss Sunday's highly anticipated matchup between the Buccaneers and Rams. It's not official yet, but the mid-week timing of his entry into the COVID-19 protocol presents a challenge, as Brown was added to the list with about 100 hours to go before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. If Brown can't play, Scotty Miller likely will fill in as the No. 3 receiver, with Tyler Johnson and tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate also candidates to pick up some extra snaps off the bench. Brown caught five of seven targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening win over Dallas, but in Week 2, he managed just one reception for 17 yards on three targets against the Falcons.

Brown brought in one of three targets for 17 yards in the Buccaneers' 48-25 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
After evoking memories of his Steelers heyday with a five-catch, 121-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 1 against the Cowboys, Brown was the forgotten man in Tampa Bay's pass-catching corps Sunday. His trio of targets significantly trailed Mike Evans (nine) and was marginally behind the five apiece Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski saw. His teammates also hauled in all of Tom Brady's five touchdown passes, while Brown went without a red-zone target for the second time in as many games. However, with lockdown cornerback Jalen Ramsey likely locked on either Evans or Godwin in next Sunday's road showdown against the Rams, Brown could find himself with a bigger overall role.

Brown secured five of seven targets for 121 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 31-29 win over the Cowboys on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
After averaging his fewest yards per reception (10.7) since his 2010 rookie campaign a year ago, Brown authored a season-opening performance Thursday that was unmistakably reminiscent of his field-stretching heyday with the Steelers. The perennial Pro Bowler's most impressive moment of the night may well have been his 47-yard touchdown grab late in the second quarter, when Brown executed a stop-and-go route perfectly before hauling in a Tom Brady rainbow in stride for the score. If his Week 1 usage and production is any indication, Brown may be poised for an exponentially more explosive season than 2020. He'll look to put together a strong encore effort in a Week 2 divisional home clash with the Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 19.

Brown (knee) will play in Thursday's game against Dallas, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was listed as a non-participant Tuesday, sandwiched between full practices Monday and Wednesday. His knee required maintenance throughout the summer and now into the season, but he'll be out there as the No. 3 receiver in a high-flying offense in the 2021 opener.

Brown's (knee) DNP at Tuesday's practice was considered a maintenance day, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
After showing up on Monday's injury report as a full participant, Brown got Tuesday off to give his knee issue a rest. It's likely tied to the injury he picked up during last season's playoffs that forced him to miss the NFC Championship Game. He eventually underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in May, and the Buccaneers re-signed him within a week of the procedure. With his current situation, Brown can brush it aside by returning to a full practice Wednesday and avoiding a designation entirely for Thursday's opener against the Cowboys.

Brown didn't practice Tuesday due to a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
Brown's knee issue resulted in him appearing on the Bucs' initial injury report released Monday, even though he was a full participant in practice that day. At this point, the team hasn't revealed whether Brown's absence from Tuesday's session was part of a pre-scheduled maintenance plan or if it suggests the injury could be more than minor. Either way, Brown's activity (or lack thereof) Wednesday will ultimately determine if he carries a designation into Thursday's season opener with the Cowboys. Chris Godwin (quadriceps) was listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice as well, so the Tampa Bay pass-catching group is heading into the Week 1 matchup with multiple key pieces at less-than-optimal health.

Brown recorded four receptions on five targets for 42 yards in Saturday's preseason contest against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Brown took part in three offensive series with the rest of the starters. Chris Godwin stole the show with three receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown, though Brown led the team in targets and receptions. Brown was used primarily around the line of scrimmage, but that could have been the product of a preseason game plan. He figures to be heavily involved in the team's Week 1 matchup against Dallas, though he will have to compete for targets with Mike Evans and Godwin.

Brown practiced Monday after receiving a maintenance day off Sunday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Not only was the veteran wideout back on the practice field, Jenna Laine of ESPN also reports Brown hauled in a deep pass from Tom Brady and taunted undrafted free agent cornerback Javon Hagan as he sauntered into the end zone. Brown thus far has looked good during his days participating in team drills, but that constitutes fewer instances than some of his position mates due to his briefly delayed start to camp as a result of his offseason knee procedure.

Brown (knee) is participating in team drills Wednesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was held out of practice Sunday and Monday before progressing to individual drills Tuesday. He's coming back from a minor knee procedure in May, with a quick return to team work suggesting he's made a full recovery. The 33-year-old wideout will team up with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to give quarterback Tom Brady one of the best receiver groups in the league.
