The ACC's sack leader with 10.5 as a senior, Branch brings athleticism, closing quickness, and an impressive 82" wingspan as a much-needed pass rusher opposite Jeremy Mincey. Branch is already penciled in at right defensive end, though it remains to be seen if he can hold up against the run on early downs.

Director of player personnel Terry McDonough indicated that No. 38 overall pick Andre Branch will play right end with the Jags. Branch, who led the ACC in sacks as a senior, should win the weak-side end job in camp, kicking Jeremy Mincey over to the left side. Aaron Kampman will likely be released. "We're a 4-3 defense, we have a need at right end," McDonough said. "It's no secret we have a need for someone who can rush the passer."
