Carrington (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Texans on Tuesday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrington signed with Houston just one week ago, but had been sidelined for undisclosed reasons during the majority of his stay. The injury is presumed to be related to the season-ending quadriceps tear he suffered in 2015 since his contract included an accompanying injury waiver. Thus, his release terminates the one-year, $760,000 contract he inked last Tuesday as he was unable to remain healthy.

Carrington signed with the Texans on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Carrington is a 29-year-old, six-year veteran, who has played for both Buffalo and St. Louis since entering the NFL in 2010. He'll be part of the mix of defensive ends getting reps with J.J. Watt (back) still out.

Carrington tore his quad tendon during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs and now requires season-ending surgery, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrington surprisingly found himself in the Bills' starting lineup Sunday in wake of injuries to teammates, but it appears he's suffered the same fate, as his quad ailment will cost him the rest of this season. Knowing that, Carrington finishes the campaign with eight tackles in seven appearances.

Carrington left Sunday's loss to the Chiefs due to a knee injury and did not return, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bills may have some issues if Mario Williams can't return from a back injury this week, as Carrington was the one taking most of his snaps. The Buffalo defense simply hasn't performed this season in a manner that matched preseason expectations, and injuries like these to its constituents hasn't helped.

With Mario Williams out for this week's game in Kansas City, Carrington is expected to receive the bulk of the available snaps in the star lineman's place. The Buffalo News reports. "I like him, because he's a versatile guy," said coach Rex Ryan. "He can play inside, he can play outside. He can do a lot of different things. He's a good player."
EDGE Analysis
Carrington saw 49 percent of the defensive snaps Monday against the Patriots, but he's in line to see even more this week with two starters ruled out. Carrington isn't much of a sack monger, never having more than two in a season, but there's a chance he'll pick up some odd tackles or even a sack if the Chiefs give too much attention to Marcell Dareus and Jerry Hughes.

Carrington re-signed with the Bills on Monday, BuffaloBills.com reports. Carrington was a 2010 third-rounder who never really developed into a regular with the team, but he became a decent depth player and one that was strong on special teams, namely as a kick blocker with his 6-5 height and big wingspan. After one season with the Rams, that's pretty much the exact role he'll be expected to have again in his return to Buffalo.

Rams agreed to terms with DL Alex Carrington, formerly of the Bills. A versatile lineman, Carrington was limited to three games and 171 snaps by a torn quad last season. He'll provide an interior presence in St. Louis, creating pressure between ends Robert Quinn and Chris Long. Three months shy of his 27th birthday, Carrington fortifies an interior line that was not a strength for the Rams in 2013.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams "remain interested" in free agent DT, but that the sides have yet to schedule a visit. Carrington visited the Raiders on Sunday, and made a trip to Pittsburgh last week. The fact that Carrington has escaped two cities without deals is an indication his price needs to come down.

Free agent DT Alex Carrington is visiting the Raiders on Sunday. The Rams will be next on his visit list, assuming he gets out of Oakland. Carrington visited the Steelers late last week, and has also drawn interest from the Browns. The 27-year-old (in June) is an effective pass rusher when healthy.
