Head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Friday that Terrell (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell sustained a hamstring injury in Atlanta's Week 2 win over the Vikings and was unable to practice throughout the week, so it's no surprise that he'll be unavailable Sunday. The Clemson product has established himself as of the NFL's best cornerbacks, recording 66 total tackles and six passes defended, including two interceptions, across 17 games in 2024. In his stead, Dee Alford is expected to start opposite Mike Hughes as part of the Falcons' top outside corner duo.

Terrell (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Raheem Morris added that Terrell is considered week-to-week, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, so it sounds like the Falcons are going to be without their top cornerback against the Tetairoa McMillan and the Panthers in Week 3. Terrell suffered the injury in last Sunday night's win over the Vikings.

Terrell (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday night's game against Minnesota, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, and he will now be forced to sit out the rest of Sunday Night Football. In his place, Natrone Brooks and Dee Alford have seen an increase in snaps in the secondary.

Terrell (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday night's contest against the Vikings, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell pulled up lame with an apparent hamstring injury in the second quarter, and it's now unclear if he'll be able to return to action in Week 2. In his absence, Natrone Brooks and Dee Alford stand to see an increase in workload at cornerback.

Terrell finished the 2024 campaign with 66 tackles (50 solo) and six pass breakups, including two interceptions, in 17 games.
EDGE Analysis
The fifth-year pro also played on more than 90 percent of the defensive snaps in 16 of 17 contests. Terrell, who signed a four-year, $81-million extension with the Falcons in August, has recorded at least 45 stops and six pass breakups in all five of his seasons.

Terrell finished Sunday's 27-21 win over Dallas with nine tackles (five solo).
EDGE Analysis
Terrell was the third-leading tackler for the Falcons on Sunday behind Kaden Elliss (13) and Nate Landman (10). Terrell played in 95 of the Falcons' defensive snaps, and he has played at least 60 snaps on defense in seven of nine regular-season games this year. For the season, Terrell has logged 49 tackles (39 solo), four pass breakups and two interceptions.

Terrell recorded seven total tackles (six solo) and one interception in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
The Clemson product finished tied as the Falcons' second-leading tackler Sunday, trailing only Kaden Elliss' 11-stop effort. Terrell was also one of two Falcons to pick off Baker Mayfield in Week 8, intercepting a pass in the fourth quarter to help Atlanta maintain a two-score lead. The 26-year-old corner is expected to continue making plays for the Falcons' defense in Week 9, when the Cowboys come to Atlanta.

Terrell posted three tackles (two solo) and an interception in Sunday's 38-20 Week 6 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell finished with a season-low tackle total, but he also came up with a big pickoff. With the Falcons up eight points early in the fourth quarter, Terrell intercepted Andy Dalton after Carolina had advanced to Atlanta's 32 yard line. It was Terrell's first interception since he tallied three in the 2021 campaign.

Terrell agreed to a four-year, $81 million contract extension with the Falcons on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal includes $65.8 million guaranteed, and it makes Terrell the second-highest paid corner on a per-year basis at $20.25 million behind Packers' Jaire Alexander, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com. Terrell, who the Falcons took 16th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, had his best season in 2021, when he earned Second-Team All-Pro honors after registering 81 tackles (52 solo), including 1.0 sacks, 16 passes defended, three interceptions and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season games. He hasn't recorded an interception over the last two seasons, but he has been one of the most effective corners in the league since being drafted. Terrell is part of an Atlanta defense that includes All-Pro safeties Jessie Bates and Justin Simmons, as well as four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon.

Terrell finished 2023 with 45 tackles (34 solo) and 11 pass defenses in 17 appearances.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell is considered one of the best cover cornerbacks in the league, but he's struggled to generate production the last two seasons, especially in the playmaking department. After totaling four interceptions and four forced fumbles across his first two NFL seasons, the 2020 first-round pick has recorded just one fumble recovery over the last two campaigns. As long as that trend continues, Terrell is a better player in real life than fantasy. Atlanta exercised the fifth-year team option for 2024 on Terrell's rookie deal, so he'll be back next season, though he's slated to be an unrestricted free agent after that.
