Rodgers was named Most Valuable Player for the 2021 season Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers was named MVP for the second consecutive season and for the fourth time in his career. Though he was outperformed in metrics such as yards and touchdowns, Rodgers was rewarded for his accuracy and ability to protect the ball. He threw only four interceptions -- the lowest mark of any regular starter this season -- and also posted a stellar 68.9 completion percentage. Rodgers also led the Packers to a successful regular season, highlighted by a 13-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Despite all of that success, it's not yet clear whether he will be under center in Green Bay to begin the 2022 campaign.

Rodgers suggested Tuesday that he'll make a decision on his NFL future well before the start of the new league year in mid-March, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers said it would be "disrespectful to the organization" if he waited until the start of free agency to make a decision. He still has one year remaining on his contract, and while there was some thought he'd try to force a trade this offseason, Rodgers could also retire or stick around with the Packers. It'll be an interesting few months in Green Bay, to say the least, with top receiver Davante Adams likely getting the franchise tag as his contract expires. Of course, if Rodgers wants out of Green Bay, the team might try to tag-and-trade Adams rather than use the tag as a bridge to a contract extension.

Rodgers completed 20 of 29 passes for 225 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions during the Packers' 13-10 loss to the 49ers in their NFC divisional-round matchup Saturday night. He also committed a fumble that was recovered by Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers' numbers were underwhelming from a fantasy perspective due to the complete absence of touchdowns. The future Hall of Famer also couldn't follow up a very efficient first quarter with enough production the rest of the way, not leading another scoring drive until a 14-play, 57-yard march early in the fourth quarter that culminated in a Mason Crosby 33-yard field goal. Those points would prove to be the final ones of the night for Green Bay, with the Packers going backward on their final three plays before punting the ball over to the 49ers and never getting it back. The heartbreaking and abrupt finish to a season in which he and his teammates squandered the NFC's No. 1 seed could be an intriguing factor in Rodgers' plans for 2022, considering he'd seemingly softened his offseason stance on wanting to play elsewhere for what would be the potential final year of his contract as this past successful regular season unfolded.

Rodgers (toe) was a full practice participant Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
In his previous media availability last Wednesday, Rodgers relayed that his left pinkie toe wouldn't be a problem for him during the playoffs. With the Packers set to open their postseason run Saturday versus the 49ers, he opened the week of prep sans limitations on the practice field, which is a change from the norm established since he sustained a toe fracture during his stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list on either side of a Week 9 contest at Kansas City. Stretching back to Week 11, Rodgers put together 1,929 yards, 20 touchdowns and no interceptions in six-and-a-half games of action before taking a seat for the second half of the team's Week 18 defeat in Detroit.

Rodgers said Wednesday that his fractured left pinkie toe won't be an issue in the postseason, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers has been contending with the injury since his return from a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list that forced him to sit out a Week 9 matchup with the Chiefs. While he didn't record a touchdown in his return Week 10 against the Seahawks, he's been on an absolute tear in the meantime, throwing for 20 scores versus no interceptions while racking up 1,929 yards over the last seven games. Rodgers relayed he hasn't taken a pain-killing injection in his toe since it was stepped on just before halftime of a Christmas Day win over the Browns, a span of two contests. He also practiced Wednesday, after which he noted that he was "close to 100 percent." The Packers won't play their first playoff game until Jan. 22 or 23.

Rodgers completed 14 of 18 pass attempts for 138 yards and two touchdowns against Detroit on Sunday. He also rushed once for seven yards.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers took a surprising amount of pressure in this brief appearance, getting sacked three times; however, this was otherwise little more than a walkthrough for the MVP candidate before Jordan Love took over in the second half. He finishes the year with 366 completions on 531 pass attempts, producing 4,115 yards, 38 touchdowns and four interceptions in 16 games. Guessing the future with Rodgers has been a rocky task in recent years, but a team doesn't willingly part with an MVP-winning quarterback, even if he's less than universally beloved. The previously assumed alternative, the former first-round pick Love, was less than convincing in this game, completing 10 of 17 pass attempts for 134 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The Packers will prepare for the playoffs for the time being, and they'll await their opponent following a first-round bye as the top seed in the NFC.

Rodgers (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rodgers has played some of the best football of his career while dealing with the toe injury, and he wants to continue in Week 18 even with the Packers locked in for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Friday that Rodgers will start Sunday, though LaFleur wasn't much help in terms of expectations for playing time, merely saying it would be based on how the game goes. Anything from a couple drives to a full game is thus in play, making Rodgers a high-risk, high-reward fantasy play for Week 18.

EDGE Analysis
Playing a full game is another matter, with the Packers locked in for the NFC's No. 1 seed. LaFleur didn't provide much in terms of hints, simply saying he'll see how the game goes before making any decisions on pulling starters. That leaves Rodgers as a risky Week 18 fantasy option, albeit with huge upside in a dome game against a bad defense.

Rodgers (toe) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Since coming down with a broken toe in mid-November, Rodgers often hasn't made his presence felt on the practice field before the final session of a given week, if he's been able to take part at all. As a result, he seems to be healthier than he's been in some time and poised to get rid of his designation when the Packers post Friday's injury report, as he normally does. Coach Matt LaFleur hasn't revealed how much Rodgers may play Sunday at Detroit, suggesting Wednesday that he'll feel out the situation and make the decision to remove starters during the game, according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Rodgers (toe) took part in Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's rare for Rodgers to get practice reps on Fridays since he was diagnosed with a broken toe in mid-November. Now with an appearance on the field on a Thursday, he appears to be the healthiest he's been in some time and will log at least a limited session. The bigger question surrounding Rodgers for a Week 18 visit to Detroit is how much he'll play Sunday, which coach Matt LaFleur indicated Wednesday would be based off "feel," per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
