He put his preseason-high number of minutes to good use, posting an exhibition-best rebound and point total. The 22-year-old was also one of the Blazers' best player in the summer league this season, but his exact role and allotment of minutes come the regular season remains in flux.

Baldwin provided 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-6 FT), six assists and four rebounds across 20 minutes during the Trail Blazers' 91-73 win over the Lakers in the Las Vegas Summer League championship game Tuesday.

The 2016 first-round pick finished with averages of 13.4 points (on 45.0 percent shooting), 7.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 25.4 minutes over seven contests. He'll now look to up his NBA opportunities in the coming season after logging only seven games of regular-season action with the Blazers in the 2017-18 campaign, although he'll have a steep hill to climb in terms of playing time while navigating a crowded shooting guard depth chart.

Baldwin's Vegas fling continued as he double-doubled in the quarter-final victory over the Celtics. Shabazz Napier has now signed with the Brooklyn Nets paving the way for Baldwin to have a crack at becoming the primary backup to Damian Lillard. He is by no means a lock but his play over the past week surely puts him in the prime position.

Baldwin has had a brilliant summer campaign an is among the most likely to receive a training camp invite this summer. After being drafted by the Grizzlies in 2016, he was traded to the Blazers last season where he thrived in G-League play and actually played seven games with the Blazers at the end of the season. Obviously, it's a crowded depth chart for Baldwin to navigate, and it's unlikely that he could move ahead of Shabazz Napier, who sits behind Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. The Vandy product deserves a closer look and if he doesn't catch on in Portland, he may find success elsewhere.

Baldwin finished Tuesday's 89-95 win over the Spurs with 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, nine assists, five steals and one block across 30 minutes.

Baldwin was all over the floor Tuesday, getting everyone involved with a team-high nine assists, while also playing some impressive defense and adding a game-high five steals. As long as he continues to see a full workload, Baldwin will have plenty of utility for summer league DFS contests. Currently a free agent, Baldwin's strong play this summer could earn him a chance a regular season roster spot, potentially in play for a standard contract or two-way deal.
