Hansbrough came into the 2015-16 season expected to be the backup center behind Tyler Zeller, but through the Hornets' first 14 games Hansbrough hasn't been given much playing at all. Mainly because rookie Frank Kaminsky has received most of the minutes Hansbrough was expected to get.

Hansbrough played seven minutes in Tuesday's 130-105 win over the Bulls, providing six points (1-4 FG, 4-4 FT) and three rebounds.

EDGE Analysis

After Charlotte raced out to a 37-20 lead after one quarter and never really looked back, coach Steve Clifford was able to dig deep into his bench in the second half of the blowout. That allowed Hansbrough to make his season debut, after he never took off his warmups in the Hornets' previous three games. He'll remain behind Al Jefferson, Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, Spencer Hawes, and Frank Kaminsky in the pecking order for playing time in the frontcourt until further notice.

Hansbrough only saw 16 minutes of action in Saturday's preseason game against the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Hansbrough's minutes have been cut in half from receiving 32 minutes in his first preseason appearance on Oct. 4 to only 16 minutes in his third game Saturday. The negative trend in minutes does not bode well for the 29-year-old as he sits near the bottom in the pecking order at center. Hansbrough signed a one-year deal this offseason and won't likely be able to jump past the likes of starting center Al Jefferson and the ninth overall pick of the 2015 draft, Frank Kaminsky.

Hansbrough posted 3.6 points (52% FG, 14% 3Pt, 70% FT), 3.6 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 14 minutes per game during 74 regular season games in 2014-15. In four playoff games versus the Raptors he averaged 1.3 points (20% FG, 0% 3Pt, 75% FT), 1.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 12 minutes per game. The 29-year-old forward is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Hansbrough will move to the bench in Friday's Game 3 against the Wizards. Hansbrough enjoyed starts in the first two games of the series but will give way to Amir Johnson on Friday as the Raptors desperately need to tally their first playoff win. The newly demoted Hansbrough only averaged 12.5 minutes in Games 1 and 2 and could still see around that same total off the bench in Game 3.

Coach Dwane Casey could look to insert Patrick Patterson or Amir Johnson into the starting lineup for Friday's Game 3, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg. This is mostly speculation on Lewenberg's part, but with the Raptors down 2-0 as the series shifts to Washington it's reasonable to think Casey will mix things up. Johnson, who was hurt near the end of the regular season, has been the starter for most of the year, while Patterson would give Toronto another perimeter shooting threat. In his two starts thus far, Hansbrough has played only 25 combined minutes, scoring four total points (all in Game 1) and failing to grab a single rebound.

Hansbrough will remain in the starting lineup for Game 1 on Saturday, the Toronto Star's Doug Smith reports. He started the last two games of the regular season but failed to see 25 minutes in each game, so Amir Johnson will be the preferred fantasy option Saturday among the Raptors' power forwards.

Hansbrough will remain in the starting lineup Wednesday against Charlotte, Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports reports. Hansbrough has been starting while Amir Johnson (ankle) continues to work back into game shape. In Tuesday's game against Boston, Hansbrough was held scoreless in 23 minutes on the floor.

Hansbrough will continue to start as Amir Johnson will return as a reserve in Tuesday's game, the Toronto Sun's Mike Ganter reports. Johnson figures to reclaim a starting role in the playoffs, but the team will limit his workload with just two games remaining in the regular season. Still, just the fact that Johnson is returning off the bench means Hansbrough's fantasy value takes a hit.

Hansbrough grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with two points (0-2 FG, 2-4 FT) in 30 minutes in the win over Miami on Saturday. Hansbrough continues to start for Amir Johnson (ankle) for the last four games and has averaged 12.0 points and 9.3 rebounds. He grabbed five offensive boards against the Heat, but did not take the ball back up. Hansbrough should be a decent play while Johnson recuperates.
