Troy Murphy scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting (including a three) with eight rebounds and a block in 24 minutes off the bench on Monday. Murphy may also get some help if Josh McRoberts (toe) cannot play on Tuesday. Give him a look if you need a forward in the short-term, as the Lakers still have four games left this week and are banged up in the frontcourt.

Troy Murphy had seven points (3-of-5 shooting), eight rebounds and one block in his debut with the Lakers on Sunday. The absence of Andrew Bynum gave Murphy a bigger role, and as long as he's healthy he should lock up 15-20 minutes in a reserve role. He attempted one 3-pointer tonight, which he missed -- keep an eye on his attempts from downtown, as they've always been a staple of his fantasy appeal.

Troy Murphy had five points, five rebounds and a 3-pointer in 18 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Clippers. He was mostly just getting abused by Blake Griffin, but with Andrew Bynum suspended for five games, look for Murphy and Josh McRoberts to get plenty of run (and starts) at PF for the first five games. The Lakers start off with a six-game Week 1, so Murphy (and Mac) could be worth a spot start in some leagues.

Troy Murphy made his Lakers debut in Monday's preseason game against the Clippers with nine minutes of action. Murphy will battle Josh McRoberts for the backup PF job, and with the clear advantage McBob has on Murphy everywhere besides the 3-point line we like him to win out. Murphy will be a situational deep threat, with little to no fantasy value.

Newly-acquired Lakers PF Troy Murphy says that he is 100% healthy. Murphy concedes that he was mostly signed to spread the court for Kobe, Pau and Andrew, as he's one of the league's best 3-point shooting big men. Given such a questionable role, there is little upside for fantasy owners even if he is 100% healthy.

Troy Murphy and the Lakers have agreed on a one-year contract. Murphy is a nice addition for L.A. if he's healthy, as he's a great rebounder with 3-point range. He's not a great defender, though, and isn't likely to appease Kobe Bryant, who reportedly wants the Lakers to upgrade. Skip him in fantasy leagues, unless Pau Gasol gets hurt.
