Ariza contributed seven points (3-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes Sunday in the Trail Blazers' 139-129 win over the Pacers.
EDGE Analysis
Ariza filled out the stat sheet nicely in his team debut three days earlier (21 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes), but he couldn't deliver a repeat performance to close out the weekend. Though his minutes didn't drop off in a major way, Ariza saw his usage rate plummet from 16.2 percent to 12.7 percent, a consequence of C.J. McCollum's (ankle) return from a three-game absence. With McCollum, Lillard, Carmelo Anthony and Hassan Whiteside set to dominate the Blazers' touches when all are available, Ariza profiles mainly as a steals and three-pointers specialist.

Ariza posted 21 points (7-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals over 36 minutes in Portland's 133-125 loss to the Mavericks on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
In his first game as a Trail Blazer, Ariza made his presence felt and was not shy about taking tough shots. He has stepped into a massive role with C.J. McCollum (ankle) out as well as Kent Bazemore going the other way in the trade. Portland's offense will not score 125 points every night, but with a bottom-third defense they will have plenty of offensive possessions. It's not crazy to envision Ariza returning to his Houston form given the situation. Carmelo Anthony-esque numbers with an uptick in defensive stats is a plausible expectation for the remainder of the season.

Ariza will start Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
EDGE Analysis
Ariza will enter the starting lineup for his first matchup as a Trail Blazer. He's expected to serve as Portland's starting small forward moving forward.

Coach Terry Stotts said Tuesday that he expects Ariza to serve as the Trail Blazers' regular starting small forward, Dan Sheldon of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
EDGE Analysis
The trade between the Blazers and Kings became official Tuesday, so unless he's dealing with an unreported injury, Ariza should be available to make his debut Thursday against Dallas. The veteran will likely step right into a major role, essentially filling the shoes of Kent Bazemore, who was sent to Sacramento in the deal. Ariza's numbers are down significantly across the board this season, but he never quite fit in with the Kings, so there's hope that a better situation will help rejuvenate the 34-year-old.

Ariza (not injury related) won't be available Monday for Portland's game against the Warriors.
EDGE Analysis
The Trail Blazers and Kings have yet to officially finalize Saturday's trade that saw five players change teams. As a result, Ariza, Wenyen Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan will have to wait until at least Thursday against the Mavericks to make their Portland debuts.

Ariza was traded from the Kings -- along with Wenyen Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan -- to the Trail Blazers on Saturday in exchange for Kent Bazemore, Anthony Tolliver and two second-round picks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the move, Portland will save some luxury tax dollars while also adding a much-needed frontcourt presence. With the Kings, Ariza played 24.7 minutes per game, averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals while also shooting 35.2 percent from distance. It's possible he sees his role increase with the Trail Blazers.

Ariza contributed 15 points (3-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes during the Kings' 114-103 win over the Suns on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran was one of the leaders of the Kings' comeback from a 21-point third-quarter deficit. Ariza has now put together back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts and has logged over 30 minutes in three consecutive contests, with Marvin Bagley's ongoing absence due to a foot injury playing a part in Ariza's bump in opportunity. The 34-year-old's production will still be subject to fluctuation from game to game due to his second-unit role, but he remains a viable deeper-league option with the ability to offer serviceable contributions in points, rebounds and steals.

Ariza had 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-6 3PT, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench during Monday's 111-98 win over the Warriors.
EDGE Analysis
Ariza is yet to start a single game this season and was coming off five straight single-digit scoring performances before exploding here. This was his highest scoring output of the season, but he has been extremely inconsistent despite logging over 25 minutes per game on a regular basis, so his upside isn't very high at the moment.

Ariza (illness) logged 17 minutes off the bench Sunday in the Kings' 120-115 loss to the Nuggets, chipping in six points (2-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists.
EDGE Analysis
Ariza missed the front end of the Kings' back-to-back set Saturday versus the Suns while feeling under the weather, but he stepped back into the rotation in Denver. The veteran could see a slight uptick in playing time in the games to come with Marvin Bagley (foot) facing an uncertain return timeline, but even when he receives big minutes this season, Ariza hasn't shown the ability to put up useful fantasy production. He's averaging just 8.4 points, 6.8 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per 36 minutes in 2019-20.

Coach Luke Walton said after Saturday's 112-110 loss to the Suns that Ariza didn't play in the contest because he wasn't feeling well, Jason Jones of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ariza still dressed for the contest, but he ultimately went unused while he was under the weather, allowing Bogdan Bogdanovic (31 minutes), Yogi Ferrell (22 minutes) and Justin James (eight minutes) to see some extra run. The Kings will finish off their back-to-back set Sunday in Denver, and an update on Ariza's status for that game should be available shortly before the 8 p.m. ET tipoff.
