Pleiss was recalled from the D-League on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss has spent three stints with the Idaho Stampede this season, averaging 11.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 13 games. He's seen action in only 12 games for the Jazz in what's looking more and more like a developmental year for the big man.

Pleiss was reassigned to the D-League on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss was just recalled in advance of Wednesday night's game, but he'll head back to the Idaho Stampede with the expectation that he'll be in uniform for Friday's matchup against Reno. It will be Pleiss' third D-League assignment of the season, and he's averaged 11.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in nine previous appearances for the Stampede.

Pleiss was recalled from the D-League's Idaho Stampede, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss' stay in the D-League was very brief, as he only played in two games during this trip. Between the two games, the center totaled 25 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks. Despite the strong showing, it's unlikely that he'll get very much playing time with the Jazz going forward.

Pleiss was sent back to the D-League on Thursday, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss has failed to crack Quin Snyder's rotation this season, and he'll now head back to Idaho, where he's already played seven games for the Stampede. In those contests, Pleiss is averaging 11.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in just over 30 minutes per game.

Pleiss failed to see any playing time off the bench during Saturday's win over the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss was given 24 minutes off the bench Wednesday against San Antonio, but Rudy Gobert (knee) has returned to the court which effectively ends his spurt of playing time under coach Quin Snyder. In fact, Pleiss is now a candidate for a move down to the D-League where he can see live action.

Pleiss was recalled from the D-League and is expected to join the Jazz for Wednesday night's game against the Pelicans, Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The German center has appeared in only four games this season in what will ultimately be a developmental year for the 2010 second-round pick. In seven D-League appearances, Pleiss has averaged 11.6 points to go with 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

Pleiss was assigned to the D-League on Monday, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss has appeared in only four games in what is looking like a developmental season for the 7-foot-3 rookie. He'll head to the D-League, where he'll have an opportunity to see big minutes in a competitive setting. Pleiss is expected to be available for Tuesday's game against the Oklahoma City Blue.

Pleiss didn't even see a full minute of action Thursday against the Heat while normal starting center Rudy Gobert (ankle) was inactive.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss is the primary backup for Gobert, but obviously that's a hollow spot on the depth chart since Pleiss had seen a total of just three minutes of action coming into Thursday. Not only does coach Quin Snyder utilize Gobert at a very high usage rate, but he tends to shift Derrick Favors down to center whenever Gobert gets his scheduled rest on the bench. This dynamic doesn't bode well for Pleiss and Thursday's game should make his diminutive role on the Jazz unambiguous.

Tue 11/3/15 2:10 AM

Pleiss has seen just two minutes of action through the first three games of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss, who signed a three-year deal with the Jazz in the offseason, shares backup center duties behind Rudy Gobert with Jeff Withey, although the two reserves have seen a total of just three minutes this season. It appears that coach Quin Snyder is utilizing Derrick Favors at center whenever Gobert leaves the court, leaving almost no time at all for Pleiss or Withey. This dynamic doesn't seem sustainable since Favors already starts at power forward, so either Pleiss or Withey could mature into a larger role as the season progresses and Snyder opens up his rotation.

Pleiss recorded three minutes in Utah's win over Denver on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Pleiss' presence on the court is obvious; his massive 7-foot-3 frame should allow him ample opportunities for blocks and rebounds as emerging center Rudy Gobert's backup. However, the 25-year-old German is still an NBA rookie, and it will most likely take some time before he finds his groove. Power forwards Derrick Favors and Trevor Booker both have the ability to move to the five position, which will make it difficult for Pleiss to see heavy minutes. Still, don't be surprised if he moves into a larger role as the season goes on.
