Williams had a nice window open because of Tyreke Evans' (back) absence, and if anything he has won positive marks locally for the job he has done. Chuck Hayes said he was the team's best passer, and if not for the presence of Isaiah Thomas we'd be forced to make a snide joke about that. We're wondering when the honeymoon period will end, but Keith Smart has done well with DeMarcus Cousins and maybe Williams has found a home. He'll still need to show that he can earn more minutes before he's anything more than a deep league flier.

Terrence Wililams' role is growing for the Kings. Keith Smart had previously said Williams was earning the right to play more, and he's seen his playing time increase in each of his first three games. Beat writer Jason Jones believes Williams will play a consistent role in the rotation even when John Salmons (hip) returns. The 2009 No. 11 overall pick is averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals on 52.9 percent shooting in just 14 minutes per game.

Keith Smart said that Terrence Williams is "moving up the charts" and is earning the right to play more frequently. Williams had 10 points, three boards and two steals in just 17 minutes on Monday and appears to be making a quick impression in Sacramento. "He's playing well. He's playing within himself," Smart said. "It's more of getting to know a guy and is he a person that you want to move forward with to be a part of your team in summer and possibly into next year." Williams won't have fantasy value in Sacramento at this time as he competes for minutes with Tyreke Evans, John Salmons, Marcus Thornton, Francisco Garcia and Travis Outlaw
