Ross was unable to replicate his 32-point effort from Sunday's matchup with Washington, but he still totaled 17 points in the rematch. The 30-year-old didn't offer much shooting efficiency Wednesday as he continues to struggle stringing together strong shooting performances.

Ross has proven plenty capable of scoring outbursts over the years, and this was the second time in four games that he finished with north of 30 points. Fantasy-wise, Ross can be a frustrating player to own, but when the minutes are there he's a capable source of points and threes who also chips in some rebounds.

Ross has scored at least 15 points in three straight games. He's a sparkplug and microwave scorer off the bench. Unfortunately, Ross' stats are mostly hallow, as even tonight he recorded a minus-12 in the box score. Ross is streamable, but his -1.2 wins above replacement -- fourth worst in the league -- on the season is telling.

Ross finished Sunday's 116-111 overtime loss to the Celtics with 33 points (11-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds and three steals across 35 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Ross saw increased shot volume off the bench and paced the team with a season-high 33 points. His evening was awe-inspiring, considering it was his first night on the floor after a seven-game absence due to COVID-19 protocols. The slew of absences for Orlando was instrumental in Ross's production boost. Sunday's stat line is an excellent reminder of the 30-year-old's playmaking ability.

Ross (conditioning) isn't on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Boston.

Ross missed the last seven games due to the league's COVID-19 protocols but will be back in action Sunday. Since Chuma Okeke (COVID-19 protocols) remains out, Ross could see a slight increase in playing time.

Ross looks to have cleared the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, but the Magic will hold him out Thursday as he works to ramp up his conditioning after missing nearly two full weeks. Thursday will mark the seventh straight absence for Ross, who hasn't played since Dec. 17 against Miami.

The performance also marked his fourth time scoring in double digits in the past five games. However, he's struggling with his shot this season overall and isn't much use in fantasy outside of very deep leagues.

Ross scored an efficient 18 points Friday, improving on what has been a bit of a lean run of late. In fact, this was his highest points total since mid-November, and just the sixth time he has scored more than 15 points all season. At this point in his career, Ross is only going to remain on the floor when his shot is dropping, making him a tough player to trust outside of deeper leagues.
