Shane Battier (rest) will sit again on Sunday. Erik Spoelstra and the Heat are openly resting their key players down the stretch, and Battier's absence is not surprising. LeBron James, Mike Miller, Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen are all active on Sunday.

Shane Battier (rest) will be held out of Friday's game against the Celtics. Battier is listed as day-to-day, but with the big three back in action vs. Boston, his services were not needed and he'll get a night to rest. Ray Allen should see some more minutes against his former team with Battier sidelined.

Shane Battier had 11 points and two 3-pointers in Friday's win over the Pistons. Owners trolling for treys without turnovers at this time of the year should look no further. Over his last six games, Battier has 13 3-pointers and two turnovers.

Shane Battier did not go through shootaround due to an illness and will be a game-time decision on Tuesday. Battier has stepped into a 3-point specialist role for the Heat, so if he's forced to sit, it could mean the seldom-used Mike Miller gets a taste of game action. Battier's absence could also thrust Udonis Haslem into more minutes and/or possibly Rashard Lewis.

Shane Battier has not taken a 2-point shot since February 14. Battier has taken 36 shots since February 14, all 3-pointers. Remarkably, he's made 22 of them, and since January 1, 88.5 percent of his shots have been from behind the 3-point line. He's become a specialist on the offensive end in order to spread the floor with guys like Mike Miller and James Jones not playing, and Battier is shooting a career-high 43.5 percent from distance this season.

Shane Battier made all four 3-point attempts for his 12 points to go with two boards and one steal on Sunday. He has been terrific in his role this year and he can thank LeBron James. Battier has made 14 more in-the-corner triples than any other player this year and most of them are off kick-out passes from James. His 3-point percentage is at a sterling 43.9 percent on the year and he can be viewed as a specialist in some deeper formats.

Shane Battier (hamstring) returned to action on Friday, scoring 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting (all threes) with two rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes. This is about as good as it gets for Battier, which needless to say puts him on the waiver wire in most if not all formats.
