Pierce will retire with the Celtics after signing a non-guaranteed contract on Monday, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pierce spent his first 15 seasons with the Celtics, which included a Finals MVP showing in 2008 when he helped Boston secure the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy alongside Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. His decorated career also included 10 All-star appearances, which is why he's widely considered a lock to end up in the Hall of Fame when all is said and done. Pierce finished his career playing with the Nets, Wizards and Clippers, but his time in Boston will be remembered most, making Monday's one-day contract with the Celtics all the more special.

Pierce was waived by the Clippers on Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pierce was irrelevant in fantasy last season due to the very little action he saw. He participated in just 25 games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.9 rebounds across 11.1 minutes per contest. With his role and abilities gradually slipping, plus Chris Paul being traded away to Houston, Pierce's time in Los Angeles, and possibly the NBA, has come to a close.

Pierce pitched in with 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and one rebound over seven minutes in Monday's 125-96 win over the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
The 39-year-old was out there to chuck away, and that he did. Pierce compiled a season-high scoring total in a modest amount of playing time, but it's unknown how much opportunity he'll see come the postseason. The 19-year veteran has seen action in only 25 games this season and is averaging career-low totals across the stat sheet.

Pierce (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 116-102 win over the Celtics on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Since making a spot start in the final appearance of his career in Boston back on Feb. 5, Pierce has returned to the bench and isn't being included in coach Doc Rivers' rotation. Expect that to remain the case the rest of the way, though Pierce could make some ceremonial appearances in the final few games of the regular season as a final sendoff before the playoffs get underway.

Pierce will return to the bench for Monday's game against the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
Pierce, who's set to retire after the season, was moved into the starting lineup on Sunday against the Celtics, as it was his last game in Boston, where he played the bulk of his career. He ended up seeing just five minutes and in moving to the bench, likely won't see the floor unless injuries occur higher up in the depth chart. Look for the Clippers to go with a three-guard lineup again, giving Raymond Felton another opportunity to join the top unit.

Pierce will start at small forward in Sunday's game against the Celtics, Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Doc Rivers was expected to find minutes one way or another for Pierce, who hasn't played in a game since Dec. 31, during the final game of his career in Boston, where he spent 15 seasons, but the starting assignment is somewhat of a surprise. It's expected that Pierce will replace Raymond Felton in the lineup, but even so, it's unlikely the 39-year-old will take on starter-level minutes following the month-long layoff from game action. Pierce has seen 20-plus minutes in only one of his 12 appearances this season and is averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Pierce is expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Celtics, in what figures to be the final appearance of his career in Boston, Brian Robb of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pierce, who announced in September that he will retire after the 2016-17 season, hasn't made an appearance for the Clippers since Dec. 31, a stretch of 14 games where he's failed to get off the bench in coach's decisions. However, look for coach Doc Rivers to make room for the veteran in the rotation for at least a brief spurt Sunday so the fans in Boston -- where he spent his first 15 seasons of what's likely a Hall of Fame career -- can give him a final sendoff. Pierce figures to drop back out of the Clippers rotation in the second half of the back-to-back set Monday against the Raptors.

Pierce will move to the bench Monday against Phoenix.
EDGE Analysis
The Clippers are electing to go small Monday by having Raymond Felton, J.J. Redick, and Austin Rivers start. Despite the demotion, Pierce still could see around his average of roughly 12 minutes per game against the Suns.

Pierce tallied five points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds across 16 minutes during a 114-88 loss to Oklahoma City on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Pierce got the start over Wesley Johnson (ankle), but played only 16 minutes. Even if Pierce continues to receive starts while Blake Griffin (knee) is sidelined, he hasn't showed an ability this season to produce at anything other than an extremely minor level. He has only received more than 20 minutes in a game once this season.

Pierce will start Saturday against the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
In the continued absence of Blake Griffin (knee), Pierce has moved in and out of the starting lineup. As a result, there's no guarantee he'll continue to start Monday against the Suns, but for Saturday, he'll get the nod over Wesley Johnson.
