With Otto Porter (back) already ruled out, Thaddeus Young and Denzel Valentine could potentially see some extra run at small forward should the rookie ultimatley get ruled out.

Williams is listed as probable for Monday's game against Houston due to a bruised right hip.

Williams picked up a hip injury Sunday afternoon, but it doesn't look to be anything of great concern. With Otto Porter (back) ruled out, the rookie will likely be set to start at one forward spot alongside Lauri Markkanen.

EDGE Analysis

Williams seems to have settled as Chicago's starting power forward, getting the nod in each of the team's first seven contests so far. He's scored in double digits just thrice in that span, but he does a little bit of everything and might be serviceable as long as he remains in the starting unit.

Williams managed 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two assists and one rebound in 20 minutes during Tuesday's 115-107 victory over the Wizards.

EDGE Analysis

Williams continues to start for the Bulls but is yet to play starter's minutes on a regular basis. Otto Porter has shifted to the bench but is still the more proven of the two options. Porter played 29 minutes in the victory and at this stage, he is the small forward to target at the moment.

The Bulls didn't have a good performance in their 2020-21 debut, but Williams thrived in his first career game in The Association and filled the stat sheet admirably while ending as the team's third-highest scorer behind Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen. The rookie will likely remain in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pacers.

Williams is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener against the Hawks.

Starting over Otto Porter at small forward, the rookie looked plenty comfortable as he cruised to his third double-digit scoring night in as many games. The Florida State product converted his only three-point attempt and added two blocks in 27 minutes. At this juncture, Porter is probably the favorite to start at small forward, but Williams could make it a legitimate competition.

Williams will start Wednesday's preseason game at Oklahoma City.

The rookie fourth overall pick played 25-plus minutes off the bench in both preseason contests over the weekend and averaged 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
