Coach Billy Donovan said Williams (wrist) will not suit up for Monday's preseason matchup against the Bucks, Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams jammed his wrist during Saturday's preseason game against the Grizzlies. However, the X-rays came back negative and the 23-year-old is likely just sitting in preparation for Opening Night. Williams' next chance to suit up during the preseason will be Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

Williams jammed his wrist and got X-rays following Saturday's preseason game against the Grizzlies, but the results were negative, according to Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com.
EDGE Analysis
Williams got the start and was limited to just 18 minutes, finishing with three points (1-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals. It's unclear if the wrist injury had something to do with his woeful shooting performance, and it's unclear if Williams will play against the Bucks on Monday.

Bulls vice president Arturas Karnisovas said Monday that Williams (foot) has been cleared for training camp, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite getting clearance for all things including contact and 5-on-5 scrimmages, Karnisovas did caution that the Bulls may hold Williams out of some stuff to bring him along slowly. Williams experienced foot discomfort during the Bulls' recent minicamp, but it sounds like he's progressing very quickly to the relief of the franchise.

Williams experienced foot discomfort during the Bulls' recent minicamp and has required additional rest in recent weeks, Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic reported Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams indicated earlier this summer that he was fully recovered from his February foot surgery and was pain-free, but he experienced a setback during the team's offseason activities. He signed a five-year deal with the Bulls in late June, but it's not yet clear whether his recent discomfort will impact his availability for the start of training camp.

Williams (foot) said Saturday that the bone in his foot is fully healed, and he should be ready for training camp in the fall, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams said he is now running and jumping pain-free after undergoing season-ending surgery in February. The 22-year-old signed a five-year, $90 million pact to stay with the Bulls this offseason, and his health will be a huge factor for the rebuilding club. In 43 regular-season games last season, Williams averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 39.9 percent from deep.

Williams (foot) and the Bulls agreed to a five-year, $90 million contract Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bulls extended a qualifying offer to Williams previously to make him a restricted free agent, but they are solidifying their trust in Williams' long-term potential with this contract. Williams has had a lot of ups and downs with the Bulls, but he's a career 41.0 percent shooter from beyond the arc with considerable upside on both ends of the court.

The Bulls extended their qualifying offer to Williams on Monday, making him a restricted free agent, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams will now be able to negotiate with other teams when free agency starts June 30; however, the Bulls will have the opportunity to match any offers he receives. The 22-year-old had his 2023-24 season cut short due to a left foot injury, and he averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 27.3 minutes in 43 appearances. While it is not fully clear what direction the Bulls are currently trending in, Williams is still young and would fit the mold of a rebuild player who could remain with the team for a significant time.

The Bulls announced Friday that Williams will undergo surgery to address bone edema in his left foot and will be out for the remainder of 2023-24.
EDGE Analysis
Williams hasn't played since Jan. 25 due to his left foot injury and will now be shut down for the remainder of the season. Ayo Dosunmu, Julian Phillips and Alex Caruso should continue to receive increased playing time in his absence. Williams will end the 2023-24 campaign averaging 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.3 minutes across 43 appearances.

Williams (foot) has begun a light ramp-up but hasn't resumed running and won't play in Thursday's game versus the Celtics, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams hasn't played since Jan. 25 due to a left foot injury and will remain out Thursday. The 22-year-old forward doesn't appear to be close to a return and should be considered doubtful for Sunday's matchup with the Pelicans.

The Bulls announced Tuesday that Williams has been diagnosed with acute bone edema in his left foot and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given that Williams will merely be re-evaluated in two weeks, he's unlikely to be cleared for game action until after the All-Star break. Ayo Dosunmu moved into the starting five and played 33 minutes in Sunday's win over Portland while Williams was sidelined, though that spot on the top unit will eventually be returned to Zach LaVine (ankle), assuming LaVine isn't traded before the Feb. 8 deadline. Along with Dosunmu, rookie Julian Phillips was one of the beneficiaries of Williams' absence -- he played 23 minutes Monday and recorded 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and one block.
