Mayo is questionable for Wednesday's season opener due to a hamstring injury, Charles Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The extent of Mayo's setback is uncertain, but it prevented him from practicing Monday, and could keep him off the floor for the first game of the new campaign. The Bucks will confirm his availability for Opening Night at some point in the next couple days.

Mayo tallied seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, and two steals over 25 minutes in Tuesday's 106-88 preseason victory over the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Mayo figures to once again be the first shooting guard off the bench in 2015-16, and the seven-year veteran has proven as steady as they come in this role. He enjoyed a particularly strong night on the boards Tuesday, and appears ready to provide consistent production over 20-25 minutes a night in multiple categories during the regular season.

Mayo scored 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and dished out 10 assists in 24 minutes of Tuesday's preseason win over the Cavaliers.
EDGE Analysis
Mayo missed the first few days of Bucks camp to attend to a personal issue, but he's suited up for all three of the team's preseason games. He's seen his playing time increase in all three games, but that speaks more to his uncertain role heading into 2014-15. Mayo was one of the Bucks' more dependable bench scorers last season and was often a go-to shooter in clutch situations, but with the team adding more depth to the backcourt with the offseason additions of Greivis Vasquez and first-round pick Rashad Vaughn, his role could quite possibly diminish.

Mayo appeared in 71 contests for the Bucks in 2014-15, averaging 11.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three in 23.9 minutes per game. Questions surrounded Mayo's fit with the team after somewhat of a disastrous first season in Milwaukee, but he arrived in camp in great shape and reasserted himself as a productive scorer. Mayo made 15 starts but primarily served in a bench role, seeing the fewest minutes per game of his career. As a result, his numbers aren't overly impressive, but prorating them over a per-36-minute sample reveals that Mayo actually had one of his best statistical seasons. Per-36 minutes, Mayo averaged 17.1 points (second-highest of his career), 4.2 assists (second) and 4.0 rebounds (second) while shooting 42.2 percent from the floor, just a hair below his career mark of 43.2 percent. Mayo ended the season with a 13.5 PER (up from 11.2 last season), right in line with his career average of 13.8. The 27-year-old will enter the final year of his three-year, $24 million contract next season, and he figures to hold down a similar role, assuming restricted free agent Khris Middleton returns to Milwaukee.

Mayo scored a team-high 18 points (6-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with three rebounds, four assists, and four steals in just 24 minutes off the bench Saturday in the Bucks' Game 4 win over the Bulls. Mayo's leadership on offense carried the Bucks on Saturday and allowed them to push the series back to Chicago for Game 5. He shot just 8-of-27 through the Bucks' first three playoff games but found his stroke with the season on the line. Mayo will likely get a lot of minutes in Monday's game, but coach Jason Kidd also likes to ride the hot hand, making the Bucks difficult to use in daily games.

Mayo is a dreadful 4-of-17 from the field through Milwaukee's first two playoff games. Mayo has been up and down for most of the season, and he's struggled to make an impact thus far in the postseason. He followed up a 1-of-7 shooting performance in Game 1 with a 3-of-10 showing in Game 2. While he hasn't contributed much from a scoring perspective, Mayo has been a reliable rebounder and passer, tallying three assists in each game and 10 total rebounds (25.5 minutes per game).

Mayo had 17 points (6-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with four rebounds and three steals in 20 minutes in the win over Brooklyn on Sunday. He had six turnovers. Mayo seems to have found his role off the Buck bench as an instant offense guy. He has scored in double digits in five of his last six games and has hit a 3-pointer in each game of the run.

Mayo scored 24 points (9-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), including 20 in the first half, with five rebounds and six assists in 29 minutes in the win over the Celtics on Friday. Mayo scored 40 percent of the Bucks' first half points, but was content to facilitate the offense after halftime. He has seen a boost in minutes in his last two games and has scored 37 points in his last two games. Mayo could be a consideration for late-season play for points and 3-pointers.
