Even though Sharife Cooper has stolen most of the headlines when it comes to the Charge, Hinton has been excellent and remains a productive threat on both ends of the court. He's averaging 15.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, and he's also recorded 23 or more points in four of his last seven appearances.

Hinton finished with 23 points (8-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four assists, four steals and three rebounds across 36 minutes in Wednesday's 115-103 win over the Skyforce.

Hinton was extremely efficient from the field and surpassed the 20-point plateau for the third time in his last five games, but this was also the third time in which he registered two or more treys in that span. He's making 40 percent of his threes while averaging 5.4 attempts per game.

Hinson notched 30 points (11-21 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, seven steals and four assists across 38 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Mad Ants.

With Mamadi Diakite and Isaiah Mobley with the Cavaliers and Sharife Cooper enduring a rough shooting night, Hinton had to step his game up on both ends of the court and fully delivered here. Despite the fact that the Charge lost to the Mad Ants by an expressive 29-point margin, Hinton posted season-high marks in points and steals while also tying his season-high output in assists. He's now scored at least 15 points in four of his last five outings.

Hinton ended with 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt), 12 rebounds, two blocks and an assist across 43 minutes in Tuesday's 122-116 loss against Grand Rapids.

EDGE Analysis

Hinton endured a slow start to the season, but he has been turning things around of late with back-to-back double-digit scoring performances. This was also his first double-double of the campaign.

Hinton finished with 20 points (9-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists and three steals across 34 minutes in Sunday's 121-106 win over the Gold.

EDGE Analysis

Hinton averaged 8.7 points per game across 14 appearances for Fort Wayne during the 2021-22 season, and he was putting up similar numbers this season until breaking out Sunday. Given that Hinton played 30-plus minutes and didn't reach the 10-point mark in any of his previous three contests, all signs point to this game being an outlier for Hinton rather than the expected norm going forward.

Hinton was waived by Cleveland on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Hinton did not figure to have a great chance at making the Cavs' final roster, so this news is not surprising. He appeared in 21 NBA games as a rookie in Dallas in the 2020-21 season before spending the majority of last season in the G League. He is now set to look for a new opportunity.

The Cavaliers signed Hinton to an Exhibit 10 deal Monday, Sam Amico of FortyEightMinutes.com reports.

Hinton appeared in 21 NBA games with Dallas as a rookie during the 2020-21 season and played in two contests with the Pacers last year, but he never garnered a substantial role. However, he did light it up while playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the G League during the 2021-22 campaign. The third-year forward averaged 18.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from three as a sophomore. Hinton will likely be a longshot to make the Cavaliers' initial roster, but he could land a two-way deal with a strong training camp.

Hinton signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Pacers on Thursday.

With Indiana upgrading Terry Taylor and Duane Washington to standard NBA contracts, Hinton and Gabe York were brought in from the G League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants to fill the two open two-way slots. Hinton, who went undrafted out of Houston in 2020, appeared in 21 games for the Mavericks in 2020-21 and two for the Pacers earlier this season when the team required COVID-19-related reinforcements. Hinton could fill a small role off the bench for the Pacers' final two games of the season.
