Moody was assigned to the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Thursday.

Moody has fallen out of Golden State's rotation over the last several games, and his move to the G League should allow him to see more consistent minutes. However, if the parent club deals with injuries at some point, Moody will be a strong candidate to be recalled.

Moody posted 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 143-113 loss to the Nets.

Getting his second straight start on a night in which Stephen Curry (shoulder), Klay Thompson (knee), Andrew Wiggins (groin) and others were all in street clothes, Moody took advantage of the opportunity and set a new season high in points. The second-year guard has scored in double digits in three of the last five games, going 9-for-18 from three-point range during that stretch, but his role should shrink again once the Warriors' backcourt gets healthier.

Moody had 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 132-94 loss to the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Moody entered the starting five for the second time this season and scored nine of his 11 points from beyond the arc. This marks his third time scoring in double figures in December over nine appearances, as he's struggled to log consistent playing time behind Klay Thompson, Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Lamb.

Moody is in the starting five for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Moody will replace Donte DiVincenzo (illness) in the starting lineup Tuesday. The second-year guard will make just his second start of the season and the 13th of his career.

Moody ended Wednesday's 125-119 loss to the Pacers with 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and three assists over 23 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

The 20-year-old guard got a boost in playing time after Stephen Curry (shoulder) exited the contest, and Moody was able to take advantage. He's quietly been locked in from long range for a while now, going 7-for-11 on three-point attempts in December, and if Curry misses additional time, Moody could have some short-term fantasy value.

Moody logged 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-3 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in 17 minutes during Saturday's 120-101 victory over Houston.

EDGE Analysis

Moody logged some extra minutes in garbage time, flashing his offensive arsenal in the process. Despite an element of upside, Moody's role has been inconsistent, to say the least. Barring injuries to key pieces, he appears likely to remain a backend rotation option better suited to the deepest of leagues.

Moody contributed 10 points (2-6 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 33 minutes during Monday's 128-83 loss to the Pelicans.

EDGE Analysis

The Warriors rested most of their starters in the second half of a back-to-back set, so this led several reserves to see more playing time. Moody wasn't part of the starting lineup, but he logged a season-high in minutes off the bench and was one of the few players who delivered a decent performance. The Warriors should be back at full strength for their next game against the Clippers on Wednesday, however, so Moody is expected to return to his end-of-the-bench role.

Moody supplied no counting stats in three minutes during Friday's 111-101 victory over New York.

EDGE Analysis

Moody saw just three minutes in the win, a season-low mark for the sophomore. After a couple of encouraging performances over the first three weeks, Moody has now played fewer than 10 minutes in three of his past four games. While he is a name to monitor, it appears as though he is the odd man out right now when it comes to rotation minutes.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr implied Wednesday that Moody could be among the younger players who see fewer minutes as Golden State attempts to improve its defense, Kendra Andrews of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Warriors are currently a bottom-five defensive team, and fixing that is something Kerr is clearly going to prioritize in the short term. He noted that the Warriors are operating with a "smaller margin of error," so he may lean more heavily on the likes of Anthony Lamb and Ty Jerome -- a pair of two-way players -- instead of Moody, Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman. This could simply be a motivational tactic by Kerr, but it's certainly not the most encouraging endorsement of Golden State's young trio. Through 11 appearances this season, Moody is averaging 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.8 made threes while shooting 43.7 percent from the floor. The 2021 lottery pick remains an intriguing long-term piece, but he doesn't have much of a path to fantasy relevancy this season.

Moody isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Sacramento.

Moody drew a rare spot start Friday with many of Golden State's starters getting the night off to rest, and he'll return to his normal bench role Monday night. He's averaging 5.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in nine games off the bench so far this season.
