Ellis will come off the bench in Friday's game against the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis has played 33.3 minutes per game this season but is averaging just 9.1 points and 5.0 assists per contest. His lack of scoring is likely why the team opted to insert C.J. Miles for the time being. Ellis is likely to see a slightly smaller role as long as he's out of the starting lineup.

Ellis supplied six points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, three rebounds and three steals across 34 minutes in Thursday's 125-107 loss to the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis played the role of facilitator in a matchup with his former team, notching a season-high assist total while attempting his fewest shots of the young campaign. The bevy of mouths to feed in the Pacers' offensive attack has resulted in fewer scoring opportunities for Ellis, who is averaging just 11.0 points per game in five contests, despite shooting a respectable 44.7 percent from the floor and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Ellis contributed 19 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals across 44 minutes in Wednesday's 130-121 overtime win over the Mavericks.
EDGE Analysis
True to his promise earlier in training camp, first-year Pacers coach Nate McMillan deployed a tight rotation in the season opener that leaned heavily on the starters, with all five players seeing at least 34 minutes. Ellis was the surprising leader in court time for the Pacers and made the most of it, achieving totals in the points, assists, rebounds and steals categories that all exceeded last season's averages. He won't have the benefit of the extra period in most games to pad his stats, but the likelihood that Ellis will continue to stick in a consistent 30-plus minute role under McMillan puts him in good position to match or surpass his numbers from last season.

Ellis submitted 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven assists, one rebound and one steal across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 111-103 preseason loss to the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
After superstar Paul George, the Pacers boast a fairly balanced scoring attack among their remaining four starters, which will likely inhibit Ellis from improving upon the 12.6 shots per game he received in 2015-16, which was his lowest mark since his rookie season. That being said, Ellis' track record of durability and solid, if not spectacular outputs in the points, assists, rebounds, steals and three-pointers categories should make him a reliable fantasy commodity. He's a good roster option in the middle rounds of most formats, and could even be had later than that given his perceived lack of upside.

Ellis contributed 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one blocked shot across 20 minutes in Thursday's 115-108 preseason win over the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis' scoring total was second among the Pacers' starters, but the lack of impact in other categories ended up limiting his DFS utility. The veteran guard is usually good for a handful of assists and rebounds each game, but as a member of a balanced Pacers' attack, he's not the major scoring threat that he was earlier in his career with the Warriors, Bucks and the Mavericks. Ellis averaged just 13.8 points per game last season -- his lowest mark since his rookie year -- and could see that figure dip further in 2016-17 with the Pacers adding Thaddeus Young to the starting five during the offseason.

Ellis recorded 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt), seven assists, and four rebounds across 37 minutes during the Pacers' 89-84 loss to the Raptors in Sunday's Game 7.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis totaled more assists than the rest of his teammates combined on Sunday, as the Pacers dished out just 12 dimes. With that being said, Ellis was as inefficient during the playoffs as he was during the regular season, averaging 11.6 points (on 43 percent from the field) to go with 4.3 assists to 2.4 turnovers, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 steals across 32 minutes per contest. It certainly wasn't his fault alone that Indiana failed to advance past Toronto, but the Pacers were probably hoping for a bit better production from their high-priced offseason addition.

Ellis posted eight points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, and two steals across 33 minutes in Tuesday's 102-99 Game 5 loss to the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
It's the third straight game that Ellis has been held to single-digit points, and the veteran guard is shooting 34.6 percent from the floor during that span. He was forced to take a backseat to Paul George and (sometimes) George Hill on the scoring front during the regular season, and that's again reared its head in the postseason, as Ellis seems to struggle to find his footing when the offense doesn't run through him.

Ellis (personal) pitched in seven points (3-9 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and a steal over 36 minutes in Thursday's 101-85 Game 3 loss to the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
After having missed practice Wednesday for personal reasons, Ellis looked somewhat out of sorts in the Game 3 defeat. His solid track record from the field and three-point range over the first two games of the series evaporated Thursday, as his field-goal percentage, three-point percentage and point total were all series lows. The veteran two-guard's scoring contributions figure to be key in a pivotal Game 4 on Saturday afternoon at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Ellis will start Game 3 against the Raptors on Thursday, Nate Taylor of the Indy Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis missed practice Wednesday to tend to a personal issue, but he rejoined the team Thursday and will be available in his usual starting shooting guard role.

Ellis (personal) missed practice Wednesday for personals reasons, Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The nature of the absence is unclear, but Ellis should be considered cautiously questionable for Thursday's Game 3 against the Raptors until the team says otherwise.
