Smart accumulated 11 points (4-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one rebound, six assists and one block over 36 minutes before getting ejected from Saturday's 134-125 victory over the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's early exit capped off what was another mediocre performance. Outside the top 170 over the past two weeks, Smart is struggling to put up tangible production outside of his steal numbers. It is looking like this will be Smart's worst season in recent memory, something that is sure to leave a sour taste in the mouths of those who took a chance on him prior to Opening Night.

Smart posted 19 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 109-94 loss to New York.
EDGE Analysis
Smart fell just three points shy of matching his season-high output in the scoring column and posted just his third multi-block game of the season, displaying his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. On the flip side, he finished with fewer than three assists for just the second time this season, so Smart's night could've been even better. Either way, Smart's ability to contribute in every category makes him worthy of a roster and starting spot in most league formats.

Smart contributed nine points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, six assists and six steals in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 127-109 win over the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
Smart (ankle) returned to the lineup Wednesday after missing the Celtics' previous 11 games and consistently made plays on both ends of the court. The point guard finished with just nine points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field but added seven boards, six dimes and a game and season-high six steals. Smart has now dished out at least four assists in seven straight games, though he's failed to score in double figures in each of his last two.

Smart (ankle) is not on a minutes limit for Wednesday's matchup against the Pistons, Souichi Terada of The Springfield Republican reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite 11 consecutive absences, Smart will be available for his full workload for the Celtics' final game before the break. Still, it wouldn't be surprising if the team exercised some caution or if the game got out of hand considering the opponent and Smart ended up seeing fewer minutes than his average (32.5).

Smart (ankle) isn't listed on the Celtics' injury report for Wednesday's matchup versus Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Smart hasn't played since Jan. 21 and will likely face restrictions during his return from an 11-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. However, his expected return to Boston's starting lineup Wednesday certainly suggests the defensive-minded point guard will be full go following the All-Star break, which should be positive news for fantasy managers who've been waiting for an update on Smart's availability.

Smart (right ankle) is targeting a return Wednesday against Detroit according to Jared Greenberg of NBA on TNT.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has been sidelined since Jan. 21 and will almost certainly have restrictions in his first game back. However, the Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum (illness) and Jaylen Brown (face), so Smart could be looking at some heavy usage during his time on the floor. Derrick White has been outstanding lately but will lose some steam with Smart coming back.

Smart (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart will miss a 10th straight game due to a right ankle sprain. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday against the Pistons, which is Boston's final contest before the All-Star break. It looks like the Celtics will be without a majority of their regular starters Tuesday, so they could have a skeleton crew against the Bucks, who are only 1.5 games back of Boston for first place in the East.

Smart (ankle) will not play in Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart will miss a 10th straight contest with a sprained right ankle, and following reports that he may not return before the All-Star break, he may also miss Tuesday's game against the Bucks. With Jaylen Brown (face) also sidelined, Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon and Payton Pritchard figure to receive most of the backcourt run.

Smart (ankle) said Tuesday that he's without a clear timeline to return to game action and acknowledged the possibility that he could remain out through the All-Star break, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Back on Jan. 24, Smart said he was hopeful to return from the sprained right ankle in 1-to-2 weeks, but just seven days later, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year spoke less optimistically about his health. Given that he has yet to resume any on-court work, Smart no longer appears poised to return within the two-week estimate he initially provided, and unless he's able to show tangible improvement in his recovery over the next handful of days, the Celtics could choose to err on the side of caution and keep him sidelined through the mid-February break. Smart's ongoing absence should continue to open up a few extra minutes each for Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon and Grant Williams.
