McClung signed a 10-day contract via hardship exemption with the Bulls on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

McClung is averaging 19.5 points, 6.2 assists and 1.3 steals across 13 G League games with the South Bay Lakers. With Zach LaVine, Ayo Dosunmu, Troy Brown and Matt Thomas all in COVID-19 protocols, the 22-year-old guard will likely serve as a backcourt depth option for the Bulls.

McClung finished with 18 points (5-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight assists, three rebounds and one block over 38 minutes during Tuesday's 124-121 overtime win over Agua Caliente.

While McClung snapped a two-game streak of reaching over 20 points, the Texas Tech product still put up 18 points in the win. McClung is averaging an impressive 21.5 points per game while shooting 42.6 percent from deep over his first 10 showings this year. Performances like these certainly do increase his chances of being called up by South Bay's parent club.

The athletic rookie continues to light up the scoreboard in South Bay. McClung is averaging 21.8 points per game on the season while shooting an impressive 43 percent from beyond the arc. South Bay battles Stockton once again Saturday.

McClung dropped 25 points (81-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt 1-4 FT) to go with seven assists, three rebounds and three steals across 38 minutes during Monday's 121-114 win over the Stars.

McClung looks like one of South Bay's top options on offense this season, as he is averaging 20.0 points on 13.3 field goal attempts per game to start the year. McClung was waived by the Lakers on Wednesday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

McClung spent training camp with the Lakers but was unable to secure a spot on the final roster. Assuming he goes unclaimed on waivers, the 22-year-old will begin the season with the South Bay Lakers in the G League.
