Nance appeared to find some extra motivation against the team with which he began his NBA career, as he registered an excellent all-around stat line that included a season-best four thefts. The forward posted a two-point, 1-for-5 dud against Phoenix on Oct. 28, but he's rebounded with two strong performances during which he's gone 12-for-17 from the field while averaging 13.0 points, 8.5 boards, 4.0 dimes and 2.5 steals. Nance's versatility gives him low-end fantasy relevance, but he's been inconsistent on a game-to-game basis.

Nance supplied 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Sunday's 112-91 win over the Clippers.

EDGE Analysis

Nance struggled badly against the Suns the last time out, but he delivered a bounce-back performance that could very well be categorized as his best outing of the campaign -- he only missed two shots from the field and posted his highest-scoring mark to date. Nance has now scored in double digits in three of his last four appearances.

Nance racked up two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one block and one steal in 14 minutes during Friday's 124-111 loss to Phoenix.

EDGE Analysis

With the Pelicans missing, most notably, Brandon Ingram (concussion) and Zion Williamson (back), Nance was in line to see plenty of minutes. However, his struggles led to limited action. Williamson may return Sunday against the Clippers. Nance isn't a fantasy consideration outside of deep leagues, and even then, he's more of a streaming option.

EDGE Analysis

Nance has been dealing with foot soreness that kept him out of Wednesday's exhibition, but he'll return to action during Friday's preseason finale. If healthy, the athletic big man could carve out a solid depth role behind Zion Williamson and Jonas Valanciunas, especially with Jaxson Hayes (elbow) expected to miss the start of the regular season.

Nance was efficient from the field en route to 14 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, notching his first double-double of the campaign. The Clippers came out of halftime sporting a small-ball lineup, and after the Pelicans coughed up their double-digit lead, they adjusted by essentially benching Jonas Valanciunas and running with Nance as the primary center. Nance's versatility countered the Clippers' small-ball lineup perfectly, but Valanciunas will likely return to his usual role during the first-round matchup against the Suns.

This was a rather unremarkable stat line for Nance, but he did see 28 minutes of action -- easily his most since coming back from the knee injury that sidelined him from early January through late March. Nance could get some extended looks in the week ahead as the Pelicans prepare for the postseason, and he looks to have settled in as the first big man off the bench behind starters Jaxson Hayes and Jonas Valanciunas. Willy Hernangomez was a DNP-CD on Sunday for the third straight game.
