O'Quinn had his best game of the season in limited minutes, playing with impressive physicality and even hitting multiple three's for the first time in 2015-16. Minutes have been hard to come by for the bearded big man lately -- O'Quinn entered Wednesday averaging just seven minutes of court time since Jan. 31, a span including two DNP. With his strong performance against Indiana's frontcourt, O'Quinn may receive extended looks in Friday's game against the Magic.

O'Quinn has appeared in three of the Knicks' five February games to date and is averaging two points and 1.7 rebounds over 5.3 minutes.

O'Quinn has seen more than 20 minutes in just one contest since the calendar flipped to 2016, and it looks like he'll continue to play sparingly off the bench for the Knicks with Derrick Williams seemingly cementing himself as the team's top frontcout reserve. The 25-year-old is shooting a career-worst 47.6 percent from the field and is seeing his fewest minutes since his rookie season with the Magic in 2012-13.

O'Quinn chipped in eight points (4-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal across 19 minutes in Thursday's 103-93 loss to the Raptors.

O'Quinn was in contention for a starting job back in training camp, but with rookie Kristaps Porzingis quickly establishing himself as an NBA-ready talent, the 25-year-old has been stuck in a reserve role all season. However, Porzingis fell ill shortly before game time Thursday, which enabled O'Quinn to earn his first starting chance of the season. As the 4-for-13 shooting mark would suggest, O'Quinn didn't exactly make the most of his opportunity, and fellow big man Derrick Williams (28 minutes) ended up absorbing most of Porzingis' playing time. O'Quinn could still get another trial with the starters if Porzingis is forced to miss Friday's tilt with the Suns, but O'Quinn won't make for an especially enticing DFS play.

O'Quinn will draw the start Thursday versus the Raptors.

O'Quinn will benefit from Kristaps Porzingis' late scratch from the lineup. Many expected Derrick Williams to snatch Porzingis' starting spot, but the Knicks must like the matchups with a more traditional power forward. O'Quinn typically does not see much time in the rotation, but due to a litany of injuries he should see a much heavier workload than usual Thursday.

O'Quinn scored four points (2-2 FG) and added three rebounds and two assists across seven minutes in Monday's 119-113 double-overtime win over the 76ers.

EDGE Analysis

After supplying 15 points in 21 minutes two days earlier against the Grizzlies, O'Quinn saw his playing time drop off considerably Monday, even though Kristaps Porzingis had to depart late in the fourth quarter with a sore right foot. Though it looks like O'Quinn is back in the rotation in some capacity after sitting out games Jan. 5 and Jan. 13, it doesn't appear he'll be able to count on getting more than 20 minutes of run with much regularity.
