Anderson will come off the bench for Game 2 against the Warriors on Monday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

Rudy Gay is drawing the start for the Spurs, bumping Anderson to the bench. Anderson struggled in Game 1, going scoreless in just 11 minutes of action while Gay saw 22 minutes and led the Spurs with 15 points.

Anderson chipped in 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two assists, and two steals in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 122-98 loss to the Pelicans.

EDGE Analysis

Anderson drew the start while Pau Gasol came off the bench to better matchup against the small-ball Pelicans lineup featuring Nikola Mirotic and Anthony Davis down low. It's possible that Anderson could continue to start in the playoffs, that is unless Spurs coach Gregg Popovich opts to go against the grain by starting two traditional big men versus the Warriors.

Anderson will rejoin the starting lineup for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Pelicans, Will Guillory of the Times-Picayune reports.

The Spurs are opting to go with their smaller lineup Wednesday, so Anderson will start at power forward, while LaMarcus Aldridge will shift over to center. That sends Pau Gasol to a bench role and coach Gregg Popovich could try and get his veteran big man some rest before the playoffs. That said, Anderson should be in line for a full workload and in 66 previous starts this season, he's averaged 8.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 27.2 minutes.

The Spurs were initially reported to be starting Anderson at the power forward position with LaMarcus Aldridge starting at center, however Aldridge will draw the start at power forward with Pau Gasol drawing the start at center. Anderson has seen his fair share of minutes recently, averaging 27.8 minutes over the past five games, and will likely see a similar role Monday.

Anderson posted seven points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists and four blocks across 29 minutes in Tuesday's 113-110 loss to the Clippers.

EDGE Analysis

Anderson has now shot 50.0 percent or better in five straight, but he's put up single-digit shot attempts in 13 consecutive games. That's naturally limited his offensive contributions, but the fourth-year wing continues to put up solid numbers elsewhere across the stat sheet. In addition to his steady production in rebounds and assists, Anderson has also now recorded either multiple blocks or steals in his last three contests.

Anderson delivered 16 points (7-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 98-90 win over the Wizards.

EDGE Analysis

LaMarcus Aldridge put a bulk of the scoring responsibility on his shoulders Wednesday, but Anderson's contributions were certainly valuable. His scoring total checked in second behind Aldridge's 27 points and served as his first double-digit tally since March 8. Anderson can't be counted on for offensive contributions of this caliber on anywhere near a game-to-game basis, but it's typically a different story elsewhere on the stat sheet. Factoring in Wednesday's line, the fourth-year pro is posting career bests in rebounds (5.6), assists (2.8) and steals (1.5), helping him retain modest fantasy value in most formats as the season winds down.

Anderson missed both of his shot attempts, adding 10 rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 22 minutes during Monday's 89-75 victory over Golden State.

EDGE Analysis

Anderson's fantasy value comes purely from his defensive stats but this performance was disappointing even by his standards. He has now scored in single-digits in six consecutive games and is basically non-existent on the offensive end. He is not really worthy of a standard league roster spot unless you are in desperate need of steals.

Anderson turned in 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and five steals across 33 minutes in Thursday's 110-107 loss to the Warriors.

EDGE Analysis

The 24-year-old stepped up his work on the boards in the absence of Pau Gasol (shoulder), generating his first double-double since Jan. 23 in the process. Anderson's offensive production continues modest on most nights, but he's now hit double digits in the scoring column in three of the past five games. Defense continues to be his trademark, however, as he's now recorded five swipes in back-to-back games, and multiple steals in four of the past five contests overall. Given his ability to check off every box on the stat sheet, Anderson's fantasy value remains rock-solid as long as Kawhi Leonard (quadriceps) remains out of action.

Anderson scored 11 points (3-5 FG, 5-7 FT) while adding five steals, four assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes during Monday's 100-98 win over the Grizzlies.

EDGE Analysis

His offensive contributions remain spotty, but Anderson is providing solid production in secondary categories, averaging 8.5 points, 4.4 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks in 11 games since the beginning of February. The 24-year-old will need to add a three-point shot to his arsenal -- he's 0-for-8 from beyond the arc in those 11 games -- if he wants to solidify his role with the Spurs and become a viable fantasy asset in most formats, however.

EDGE Analysis

Anderson made good use of his limited scoring opportunities, posting his second consecutive impressive performance from the field. The fourth-year swingman has drained seven of his 11 attempts over the last two games, and he's hit double digits in the scoring column in three of his last five. Nevertheless, Anderson's most consistent contributions come in non-scoring categories, although he remains capable of the occasional offensive uptick.
