Thompson led the way for the Mavericks as the primary player to account for Kyrie Irving's (knee) lost output. Thompson's streaky shot could be the antidote for the Irving shutdown, but Spencer Dinwiddie and Naji Marshall will also remain involved while Dallas works through absences all over the roster.

The 35-year-old is having perhaps his best stretch of the season, particularly from long distance. Thompson has drained at least three three-pointers in seven straight appearances, averaging 16.4 points, 4.3 threes, 3.7 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks during that span while shooting an impressive 46.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Thompson provided 22 points (8-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal across 30 minutes during Tuesday's 107-99 loss to the Lakers.

Thompson drilled five three-pointers and turned in one of his best lines of the season. Although his long-range shot can be streaky, the veteran has been very accurate beyond the arc, averaging 53.8 percent from deep over the past five games. Thompson's continued accuracy on the perimeter will greatly improve Dallas' chances as they make their way through their schedule.

Thompson (foot) contributed 12 points (4-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 25 minutes in Friday's 111-103 win over the Pelicans.

Thompson was one of three Dallas starters to return to the lineup for the Mavericks' first game following the All-Star break, as he and Kyrie Irving (shoulder) returned from one-game absences, while P.J. Washington (ankle) was back in action after sitting out the previous three contests. Though Thompson made his usual contribution in three-pointers and also chipped in a pair of steals, poor efficiency and a lack of a peripheral contributions continue to suppress his fantasy upside. Thompson is still capable of popping off for huge scoring performances every now and then, but the big games aren't coming frequently enough at this stage of his career to make him much more than a streaming option for three-pointers in 12-team category or points leagues.
