The first overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft has turned in a mere 61 appearances over the last three seasons, so his decision doesn't come as a shock. After stints with five organizations, Martin will conclude his career with averages of 12.3 points (on 48 percent shooting), 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 31 minutes.

Martin was officially waived by the Bucks on Thursday, Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.Martin was expected to be waived following a trade that sent Brandon Knight to the Suns and brought Michael Carter-Williams, Miles Plumlee and Tyler Ennis to Milwaukee. The veteran is now a free agent, and will have to look elsewhere for work.

Sports reports.Martin missed the final five games before the break due to an ankle sprain, and after the additions of Michael Carter-Williams (toe), Tyler Ennis, and Miles Plumlee at the trade deadline, it appears that a roster spot is required for one of the trio. As a result, Martin may have logged his last minutes in the NBA.
