Hart has decided to undergo surgery on his broken left finger, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hart was evaluating both surgical and non-surgical options to address the injury, though came to the conclusion that surgery would be the best route. It's still unclear what his timetable for a return will be, though missing several weeks doesn't seem out of the question. With Hart out of the picture for the immediate future, Alex Caruso and/or Tyler Ennis could see bigger roles within the rotation. Isaiah Thomas could see an uptick in workload as well.

Hart has suffered a small fracture in his left hand and the team is currently evaluating surgical and non-surgical options, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hart suffered the injury during practice, which subsequently prompted X-rays that revealed the extent of the injury. More information on his timetable for a recovery should emerge once he and the team make a decision regarding his options, though it seems likely he'll miss several weeks regardless of what's chosen. While he's sidelined, Alex Caruso could be re-integrated into the rotation, while Lonzo Ball and Isaiah Thomas could each see a small uptick in workload as well.

Hart suffered a left hand injury during Wednesday's practice and left to get X-rays, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
More information on his injury should arrive following the X-rays. If he ends up missing time, Isaiah Thomas could see extra run, while Alex Caruso could get re-integrated into the rotation.

Hart will remain in the starting five despite the return of Lonzo Ball (knee), KL Chouinard of ATLand29.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hart was considered the favorite to head back to a bench role with Lonzo Ball being cleared to return, but it appears Ball will initially be brought off the bench and will have some restrictions. For that reason, Hart will continue to work with the top unit and should see an elevated role for a little while longer. Once Ball is back on a full workload, which could come as soon as Thursday's tilt with the Heat, Hart's playing time will likely dwindle a bit.

Hart posted 10 points (3-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes in Saturday's 113-108 win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Hart drew another start with Lonzo Ball sitting out the contest for rest. He responded by generating his third double-digit scoring effort over the last four games, although his shooting struggles continued. Factoring in Saturday's tally, Hart has shot 40.0 percent or less in three consecutive contests, going 3-for-12 from behind the arc during that stretch as well. The 22-year-old does typically supplement his scoring with strong rebounding and assist numbers, which should help afford him a solid amount of minutes even when he moves back to the second unit upon Ball's return to a full allotment of playing time.

Hart drew the start at point guard and delivered 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes in Friday's 124-102 win over the Mavericks.
EDGE Analysis
Hart drew the start at point guard despite Lonzo Ball's return to action from a knee injury and Isaiah Thomas' availability. The rookie's double-double was his fourth of February, as he's proven to be quite the revelation while seeing extended opportunity during the month. While his role is undoubtedly about to change with Ball's return to a starting role imminent, Hart is also capable of filling in at two-guard, where he could prove to be a key reserve behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for the balance of the campaign.

Hart supplied eight points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt), four rebounds and one steal across 31 minutes in Thursday's 119-111 loss to the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Hart wasn't very efficient on a per-minute basis in what projects to be his last start at point guard for the time being. The rookie is slated to give way to the returning Lonzo Ball (knee) following the All-Star break, which should push his minutes back down to the teens or low 20s and likely shift him to more of a reserve shooting guard role now that Isaiah Thomas is part of the point guard rotation. While his overall value will naturally take a hit due to that reduction in playing time, Hart will likely retain at least modest fantasy viability, especially in deeper formats.

Hart accounted for 15 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block across 31 minutes Wednesday in Los Angeles' loss to New Orleans.
EDGE Analysis
Hart has emerged in February as an efficient scorer and, overall, as a useful piece for this young Lakers team. With Lonzo Ball (knee) still sidelined and Isaiah Thomas hitting the showers early after a spat with Pelicans guard Rajon Rondo, Hart continued to shoulder some of the offensive load without missing a step. As a fantasy option, Hart will have maximum value while Ball is on the mend, but he is one of the best rebounding wings in the league and the Lakers would be wise to continue giving him a healthy dose of minutes.

Hart tallied nine points (3-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes during Saturday's 130-123 loss to Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Hart retained his role as the starting point-guard but saw a drop in his production as the team debuted Isaiah Thomas. Thomas played quite well despite only being with the team for a short period of time and he has a lot to prove to a lot of people. Lonzo Ball (knee) will also return in the next few games and Hart seems likely to be the odd man out. The team still has the incentive to give him court time as they look to see what they have but he is going to be more of a streaming option, especially once Ball makes his way back.

Hart produced 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block across 33 minutes in Thursday's 106-81 win over the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
Hart is now averaging 13.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals across 34.5 minutes in four February contests. The rookie's outstanding shooting (63.3 percent) has allowed him to maximize what have been single-digit shot attempts in each of those games, and his work on the glass has been a rather unexpected and added bonus from the point guard position. Hart's surprising emergence adds even more intrigue to a Lakers backcourt that did see the departure of Jordan Clarkson at the trade deadline, but that also awaits the arrival of Isaiah Thomas in return. It remains to be seen if Hart will retain the starting point guard role while Lonzo Ball (knee) remains sidelined, and where exactly he'll slot into the backcourt once both Ball and Thomas are available.
