EDGE Analysis

The Cavaliers are set to be without the likes of Rodney Hood (back), Kyle Korver (personal) and Cedi Osma (hip) on the wing, so they'll shift George Hill over to shooting guard and slot Calderon in at point guard. With the injuries and promotion to the top unit, Calderon should see a temporary uptick in minutes and fantasy value. That said, he's still not an overly attractive DFS option for Saturday's slate.

Calderon finished with 15 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal across 21 minutes in Sunday's 127-113 loss to the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran point guard saw some extra run with the Cavaliers down by a significant amount in the latter stages of the contest. Calderon's minutes were the most he'd seen since Jan. 12, while his scoring total was his best since pouring in 17 against this same Lakers squad on Dec. 14. Considering he's otherwise logged DNP-CDs or minimal minutes since mid-January, Calderon has next to no fantasy value at present.

Calderon will start Friday against the Hawks, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Cavaliers will roll with a very limited rotation on Friday night after unloading six players before Thursday's trade deadline. New additions George Hill, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance and Rodney Hood are all doubtful to play in the contest considering they still have to pass physical exams before taking the court. For that reason, depth will be hard to come by for the Cavaliers on Friday night, meaning Calderon -- who hasn't logged over four minutes in a single contest since the beginning of January -- will likely see a hefty workload, making him a potential punt-play option for DFS.

Calderon picked up the start Friday with Isaiah Thomas getting the night off for rest, posting eight points, four rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes. However, he'll head back to the bench Monday, with Thomas back in the lineup and reclaiming his starting job. Prior to Monday's contest, Calderon had logged just seven and nine minutes in the previous two games, so he can be avoided for fantasy purposes now that he's back to a bench role.

Calderon, due to Isaiah Thomas (rest) being sidelined, will draw the start at point guard for Friday's contest against the Pacers, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic Cleveland reports.

EDGE Analysis

This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Calderon has started 23 games this year due to injuries to both Thomas and Derrick Rose. In those starts, Calderon has averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 assists.

Calderon had 14 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 28 minutes during Monday's 116-88 win over the Pistons.

EDGE Analysis

Making his first start of the season (in only his eighth appearance), Calderon proceeded to make an impact on the box score for the first time in 2017-18. With Isaiah Thomas (hip), Derrick Rose (ankle), and Iman Shumpert (knee) sidelined, Calderon helped key an impressive blowout victory. Shumpert is likely the closest to returning (estimated early next week), with Rose tentatively set to rejoin the rotation in December and Thomas in January. As a result, Calderon has upside as a cheap option in daily leagues for Wednesday's matchup with the Nets, and just might hold down the fort as the starting point until Rose (or Thomas) returns.

Calderon will start at point guard for Monday's game against the Pistons, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

With both Isaiah Thomas (hip) and Derrick Rose (ankle) sitting out with their respective injuries, Iman Shumpert has been working with the starters over the last few weeks. However, Shumpert is now dealing with some knee soreness of his own and will sit out at least a week, which means the Cavaliers will turn to Calderon at point guard. Calderon should see a fairly hefty workload with so many other guards sitting out, making him a potential punt-play option for Monday's DFS slate.

Coach Tyronn Lue has decided to start LeBron James at point guard against the Bulls, so Calderon has been bumped to the bench. He saw 14 minutes in Saturday's game against Orlando and still could be in for a similar role while Derrick Rose (ankle) remains sidelined. That said, Dwyane Wade is coming off the bench Tuesday and could very well absorb most of the team's reserve point guard workload.

Calderon played in just 41 games last season between the Hawks and Lakers, posting 3.4 points and 2.1 assists across 13.1 minutes per game. The Cavs don't have much by way of point guard depth, however, unless they want to play either Iman Shumpert or Dwyane Wade significant minutes at the position, Calderon could see extended run Saturday. In the four games where he saw at least 20 minutes last season, the veteran posted 8.3 points and 6.0 assists per contest.

Calderon recorded 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt), five assists, one rebound and one steal over 30 minutes Friday in a preseason matchup with the Magic.

EDGE Analysis

Calderon will likely be the point guard for the second unit to start the season, with Isaiah Thomas out to start the season. Once Thomas returns, which could happen in December, Calderon's role should decrease significantly, with most of the point guard minutes being split between Thomas and Derrick Rose.
