Wall recorded five points (1-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists and a rebound across 14 minutes in Monday's 102-97 exhibition win over the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
Imagining a pre-injury Wall alongside Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is a tantalizing proposal for the Clippers, but Wall will have to prove himself. Reggie Jackson is the incumbent starter, and neither player has much experience playing off the ball at shooting guard. It's unlikely that either player will shift over, so it appears that the two will share the point guard duties, with Jackson having the edge to start in the short term.

Wall (rest) has been a part of a rotation of lineups in training camp, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
An earlier report suggested Wall was running the second unit, while Reggie Jackson operated with the starters, but the Clippers were instead testing out different lineups, a normal preseason action. Wall and Jackson both are set to play prominent roles for the upcoming season in what will likely be an everchanging situation. The Clippers will be without both point guards for their preseason opener Friday against Maccabi Ra'anana for rest purposes.

Clippers coach Ty Lue said Thursday that Wall has been playing point guard for the team's second unit, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall and Reggie Jackson are likely for fluid roles on the ball, but it looks like things haven't started exactly in Wall's favor. The second unit will also include Brandon Boston, Terrance Mann, Marcus Morris and Morris Brown. Wall will miss Thursday's practice and Friday's preseason opener for rest purposes

Wall is not practicing Thursday and will not play in Friday's international exhibition versus Maccabi Ra'anana, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall is one of four players who will sit out the international affair, but he still has three more opportunities to get in some preseason action before the regular season fires up Oct. 20 versus the Lakers. His next chance arises Monday against the Trail Blazers.

Wall and the Clippers agreed Friday to a two-year, $13.2 million contract, per Klutch Sports Group.
EDGE Analysis
Wall joins the Clippers after a contract buyout with the Rockets. Wall hasn't played since April 2020, as he sat out all last season with Houston looking to develop young players. The 31-year-old, five-time All-Star will presumably slot into the starting point guard spot, forming a formidable Clippers rotation that includes Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, plus a myriad of skilled and experienced role players.

Wall is planning on signing with the Clippers once he clears waivers, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall wasted no time in choosing his preferred destination, as the veteran agreed to a contract buyout with the Rockets literally less than a half an hour before planning on signing with the Clippers. Although the Kentucky product can't officially join the Clippers just yet, and there are reportedly numerous teams calling in to pursue him away, Wall remains locked in on signing with the Clippers. He'll join Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and form one of the best "Big Three" in the league.

Wall and the Rockets have agreed to a contract buyout, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall is now set to become an unrestricted free agent and is free to sign with any team this offseason once his contract buyout is officially secured. The five-time All-Star, who turns 32 in September, hasn't played a full season since his time with the Wizards during the 2016-17 campaign. Wall will likely garner attention from contending squads looking to add a veteran presence in the backcourt.

Wall and the Rockets will meet this week to discuss a potential trade or contract buyout, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Wall opted into his $47.4 million player option for the 2022-23 season, but as an expiring contract he's not much easier to trade or buy out than he was last season, which he ended up sitting out entirely. For Wall, the easier path to finding a new team is likely a buyout, though the Rockets would obviously prefer to find a trade partner in order to ease at least a portion of the financial burden. Per Iko, "a breakup between Wall and the franchise is gaining momentum," so the hope is that a resolution can be reached prior to the start of free agency on the evening of Thursday, June 30. When Wall last played -- 40 games for Houston in 2020-21 -- he averaged 20.6 points on 40.4 percent shooting to go with 6.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest. The No. 1 overall pick in 2010 turns 32 in September, but he's missed the entirety of two of the last three seasons due to a combination of injuries and the contract situation.

Wall exercised his $47.4 million player option for the 2022-23 campaign, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall didn't play a single game during the 2021-22 campaign as the team prioritized the development of Jalen Green and Kevin Porter. The 2010 first-round pick turned down the opportunity to play as a reserve and instead focused on individual development in anticipation of a potential trade. Both sides are expected to work through a resolution to Wall's tenure in Houston during the offseason, but if he's not traded this summer, he'll look for a buyout agreement during the 2022-23 season, per Michael Scotto of USA Today.

Wall has recently been working on his conditioning and ramping up his workouts in Miami, but he's not expected to play for the Rockets at any point this season, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
In late November, Wall met with the Houston brass about a potential return to team activities, but upon being informed that he wouldn't get the opportunity to compete for a starting role, the veteran point guard determined he was better off conducting workouts on his own in anticipation of a potential trade. The trade deadline has since come and gone without Wall being moved, and a potential buyout likely won't be in the cards unless the 31-year-old is willing to give up a significant portion of whatever remains of the $44.31 million he's owed in 2021-22 plus his $47.37 million player option for 2022-23. The financial obstacles mean that Wall may not end up playing this season unless he and the Rockets mutually agree to bring him back in the fold in a limited role off the bench behind young guards Kevin Porter and Jalen Green, whose development remains a bigger priority for the organization.
