EDGE Analysis
Coach Erik Spoelstra said earlier in the week that he hasn't settled on a starting power forward for the beginning of the season, but it would be a major upset at this point if it were anyone other than Williams. The former No. 2 overall pick hasn't dazzled with averages of 9.7 points and 4.5 rebounds over 24.4 minutes per game, but simply by staying healthy, he's been able to claim starts in each of the last five games. Williams' primary challengers for the starting role, Luke Babbitt (groin) and James Johnson (foot) both sat out Thursday, likely sinking their chances of climbing atop the depth chart.
