Coach Frank Vogel said Monday that Ellington (hamstring) will practice with South Bay before returning to the court for the Lakers, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington, who had been dealing with a hamstring injury, has been active for the past four games, but he hasn't seen any game action. Now, the 33-year-old veteran will join the Lakers G League affiliate to get some extended run before presumably making his 2021-22 debut. Talen Horton-Tucker is also expected to return to practice this week, so the Lakers' shooting guard spot, which was a weakness to begin the season, is starting to look crowded.
